Shuangdun town

Shuangdun town is a town under the jurisdiction of Changfeng County, Hefei City, Anhui Province. It is located in the south of Changfeng County, guarding the north gate of Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. It is one of the main battlefields of "1331" development strategic planning of Hefei modern lakeside city. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, 12 communities and 484 natural villages, with a total area of 218.44 square kilometers (2017) and a population of 126443 (2017).

In June 1996, it was approved as "pilot town of comprehensive reform of small towns in Anhui Province" by Anhui provincial government. At the same time, it has been rated as 100 small town demonstration towns in Anhui Province, 18 comprehensive reform pilot towns, and Hefei big city satellite town. In October 1999, it was approved as a "national pilot town of comprehensive reform" by the State Commission of system reform. In August 2005, it was listed as the "pilot town of small town development and reform" by the Ministry of construction of the people's Republic of China. Since 2007, it has been ranked among the "top ten towns" in Hefei. In September 2011, it won the title of advanced village in Anhui Province.

Historical evolution

Shuangdun town is located in the middle of Anhui Province, adjacent to the northern suburb of Hefei, the provincial capital. It is one of the "141" development groups of Hefei's modern metropolis and the center of the new ecological city in the north of Hefei.
