Shilian town

Shilian is located in the southwest of Suichang County, 28 kilometers away from the county seat, in the center of Suichang county. With beautiful scenery, rich resources and outstanding people, it has been listed as a provincial civilized town, a provincial sports town and a provincial education town.

Historical evolution

According to Qianlong's Suichang county annals, in 1729, the county was divided into five townships and 22 capitals, and Shilian town was the 17th, 18th and 19th capitals of Xixiang. In May 1911, the county was divided into 10 autonomous regions. Shilian town was under the jurisdiction of Baoyi district. During the period of the Republic of China, it was Shilian town of Dazhe district and Shilian town of Chengqu district. Baoyi district was established in 1918. The Baojia system was implemented in December 1934. It was Shilian town of the third district. It was Shilian town of Dazhe District in the 28th year of the Republic of China. In July 1961, Hufang (except Huangluo Village) and Dafan of Zhangshi management area were divided back to Hushan commune and then the three management areas were merged and called Shilian commune. In 1984, it was called Shilian commune Township, known as Shilian town in 1987, implemented the policy of "withdrawing districts, expanding towns and merging townships" in June 1992.
