Yuyue town

Yuyue town is located in the southeast plain of Deqing County, at the junction of Huzhou, Jiaxing and Hangzhou. It borders zhouquan town of Tongxiang City in the East, Yunhe street of Yuhang District in the south, Xin'an town in the West and Xinshi town in the north. It is 32 kilometers away from Wukang County, 32 kilometers away from Hangzhou City, 170 kilometers away from Shanghai, 45 kilometers away from Xiaoshan International Airport in Hangzhou. Yuyue town was once called Shiquan township. During the Anti Japanese War (1937-1945), it was called Xujiazhuang township. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it merged with goulei township to become Yuyue township. It got its name from Yuwang temple and Yuewang temple. He was liberated in May 1949 and established as Yuyue Township in October (Gouli township was built separately). The Party branch was established in March 1955 and upgraded to the general Party branch in March 1956. In July of the same year, the people's government was renamed the people's Committee. In June 1958, the township party committee was established. In October 1958, it merged with Gaoqiao and established Gaoqiao people's commune. In June 1961, the original situation of Yuyue township was separated from Gaoqiao commune, and Yuyue people's commune was established. After the "Cultural Revolution", the institutions were paralyzed and the work stopped. On November 15, 1967, the commune set up a leading group to "grasp the revolution and promote production"; in March 1968, the Revolutionary Committee was set up. The Party committee was restored on July 4, 1970, and the management committee was restored in 1987. in January 1984, the commune system was changed to township system. In 1991, it was changed into a town system, renamed Xujiazhuang Town, and the original township party committee was renamed the town Party committee accordingly. In April 2004, Xujiazhuang town and Gaoqiao Town merged and renamed Yuyue town. Gaoqiao is named after oil vehicles and Gaoqiao in the territory. Before liberation, the former jurisdiction was Baima Township and Shuangma township. In 1950, it was established as Youche Township and sanlai township. In 1956, the two townships were merged into Gaoqiao township. In October 1958, Yuyue township was incorporated into the territory and Gaoqiao people's commune was established. Up to may 1959, four administrative areas were set up. In May 1961, Yuyue township was designated. In 1982, because of the same name as Gaoqiao commune of Tongxiang County, it was renamed as Youche people's commune. In 1984, it was changed into Youche township. In 1994, Youche township was changed into Gaoqiao Town, namely Gaoqiao Town. with the change of history and the adjustment of administrative divisions, in March 2004, the former Xujiazhuang town and Gaoqiao Town were merged and renamed Yuyue town. The town government was stationed in Zhenxing Road (the former Xujiazhuang town government was stationed). Since the reform and opening up, through the efforts of several generations of the town, the town has stood out in the vicinity, and the scope of the town has become larger and larger.

In 2004, the former Xujiazhuang town was merged with the former Gaoqiao Town, and a new Yuyue town was established. The town government was based in Xujiazhuang. The town has a total area of 39 square kilometers, 10 villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 33646 (2017). It has jurisdiction over Xinglong neighborhood committee and 10 administrative villages including Sanlin, Xiadong, Gaoqiao, tianhuangdian, Qiantang, Yangjiaba, Donggang, muqiaotou, Xigang and Qihu. Yuyue town actively integrated into Hangzhou, and became a friendly town with Yunhe street of Yuhang District in May 2007.
