Located in the southwest of Wenzhou City and in the middle and upper reaches of Feiyun River, 87 kilometers away from Wenzhou City, Dagao town is the political, economic and cultural center of Wencheng County, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and an important window of opening to the outside world. With a total area of 125.3 square kilometers (2017), the town has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages, 12 residential areas and 1 community, with a population of 86090 (2017), including 21000 immigrants. It won the title of civilized town in Zhejiang Province in 2006.

Dagao town is under the jurisdiction of Wencheng County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the southwest of Wenzhou City, in the middle and upper reaches of Feiyun River, 91 km away from Wenzhou City. Because of its "pot" shape, it is also known as "pot bottom". It is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Wencheng County, an important window for opening to the outside world, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, a tourist service base of Wencheng, and the general hub of implementing "landscape paradise" In the south of Wenzhou, it is an important economic town with beautiful scenery, convenient transportation and prosperous industry and commerce. The town governs 28 administrative villages and 12 residential areas, with a total number of 13071 households, a total population of 86090 people (2017), and a total area of 125.3 square kilometers (2017), including 1359 mu of dry land, 3380 mu of paddy field, and 14028 mu of mountain forest.

Dagao town is located in the middle of Wencheng County, on both sides of Sixi and Fengxi. It is the seat of the county government and the political, economic and cultural center of the county. In 2011, the organizational system of Longchuan Township, zhangtai Township, Jinlu Township, Liyang Township, zhoulang town and Jinlong Township was abolished. The administrative regions of Longchuan Township, zhangtai Township, Jinlu Township and Liyang Township, the administrative regions of zhoulang Township except Zhoulong village, and some administrative regions of Jinlong Township (Lishan, Xiaolong, hengpei, Gushan and other four administrative villages) were merged into Dafan town. Original town

In 1984, it was changed into Da'an Town and shuang'an township. In 1992, shuang'an township was withdrawn and merged into Da'an Town. In 1997, with an area of 25.4 square kilometers and a population of 35000, it has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages, including Wulong, huidalingjiao, Pingtou, ShangXu, Xiaxu, huanglingtou, taihushan, xiashalong, Taihu, Chenzhai, qiaotoujing, Shangfang, Xianqian, Erxin, lindianwei, Zhoucun, shifenlong, Shanmen, Chengnan, Fenglong, Yugen, dafagang, Chengshu, zhouxu, Kengkou, cuanjing, Huanglong and Shanlong. In 2002, there were 13177 households with permanent resident population of 3675400 and temporary resident population of 21000. It has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages and 12 residential areas. At the end of 2008, it covers an area of 25.37 square kilometers and has a population of 42000. Former zhangtai Township
It is located in the middle of Wencheng County, on the North Bank of Sixi, in the eastern suburb of the county, 3 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Yikou in the East, Jinlong in the south, Dagang Town in the West and Liyang Township in the north. It covers an area of 30 square kilometers and has a population of 16200 (at the end of 2008). Jurisdiction zhangtai, Xingchuan, Hedong, Dongcheng, Jincang, Tashan, Shuangdong, Mashan, Shuangma, Dongjiang, Shuanglong, qiaokeng, Guishan 13 administrative villages. Yuanjinlu Township
Located in the southwest of Wencheng County, 10 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Dagao town and Jinlong Township in the East, juyu town in the south, Huangtan town in the West and Longchuan Township in the north. It covers an area of 13 (14.4) square kilometers and has a population of 6100 (at the end of 2008). Jurisdiction Chengzhong, Wangjia, Jinshan, lushandi, Lanyan, Xinlong, Chenzhuang seven administrative villages. Township government in Jinshan Village. [evolution] it was called Jinlu management area in 1958. It was renamed Jinlu commune in 1961 and changed to township in 1984. In 2002, the population was 6337. In 2003, the original 10 administrative villages were adjusted to 7 administrative villages: Chengzhong Village was composed of the original Maping village, Mabei village and Zhoulong village; Wangjia village was composed of the original xiagonglong village and Shengli village; Jinshan Village, lushandi village, Lanyan village, Xinlong village and Chenzhuang village remained unchanged. In 2011, the township was withdrawn and merged into Dagao town.
Former Longchuan Township
Located in the middle of Wencheng County, on both sides of Longxi River, 3 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Dagao town in the East, Jinlu Township in the south, Huangtan town in the West and baizhanghe town in the north. It covers an area of 33.15 square kilometers and has a population of 15200 (at the end of 2008). It has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages including Jima, Zhongcun, Zhongbao, Jianxin, Longma, Zhangkeng, Zhonglin, cuntou, Huayuan, Hengshan, Xiatian, Xiacun, Magang, Guoshan, Guiping, Pingshan, chaliao and Wutian. In 2002, the population was 4570 households and 15423 people. Yuanliyang Township
Located in the north of Wencheng County, 5 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 16.5 square kilometers and has a population of 5700 (at the end of 2008). It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages, including Lichuan, sun'ao, Yushan, Cuandi, cuanwai, Jiangdi, jiangwaixishan and Yantou. The township government is located in Lichuan village. In 1958, it was called Liyang administrative region. It was changed into commune in 1961 and township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 16.5 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs 9 administrative villages in Chuandi, chuanwai, sun'ao, Yushan, wailongdi, wailongwai, Jiangdi, jiangwai and Xishan Yantou. The township government is stationed in chuanwai village. In 2002, there were 1532 households with a total population of 6128. In 2003, the original 9 administrative villages were adjusted to 8 administrative villages: Lichuan village was composed of the original 2 villages outside Sichuan and Chuandi; sun Ao, Yushan ethnic village, wailongdi, wailongwai, Jiangdi, jiangwai, xishanyantou and other 7 villages remained unchanged temporarily; the total number of households was 1542 and the total population was 5839. In 2011, the township was withdrawn and merged into Dagao town.
