Guanhaiwei town
Guanhaiwei town is located on the coast of the East China Sea in Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Beilun port in the East and Hangzhou Bay in the north. The terrain of the whole town is about 20 kilometers from north to South and 17 kilometers from east to west. The 329 National Highway and the Zhongheng line run through the whole town from east to west. The connecting line on the South Bank of Hangzhou Bay Bridge runs through the town from north to south, with convenient transportation.
Guanhaiwei town is one of the first batch of pilot towns of satellite cities in Ningbo, pilot towns of comprehensive reform of small towns in Zhejiang Province, and one of the most potential areas in Hangzhou Bay Bridge Economic Circle.
On October 8, 2018, it was selected as one of the top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2018. In January 2019, it will be selected as the seventh batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China. In October 2019, it was rated as one of the top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019.
Historical evolution
Name and origin
Weicheng was built in the early Ming Dynasty. It was called Guanhaiwei because "the Grand View of the sea is in the Wei".
Historical system
Ming Hongwu 20 years (1387) home Guanhaiwei, under the Zhejiang capital division. After the Qing Dynasty, it was changed into Yongyi township. In 1932, it was changed to Guancheng town. In 1949, it was divided into Guancheng town and Hecheng town. In 1951, it was restored to Guancheng town. In October 1958, it was changed into a brigade and then into a management area. In 1961, Guancheng was set up again. In 1987, Zeshan township was incorporated. In May 1992, Wuli, Fushan and DONGSHANTOU were merged. In October 2001, Guancheng Town, Shiqiao Town and Minghe town were abolished and merged into Guanhaiwei town.
