Yangbei Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Sucheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the southeast of Sucheng District, about 19 kilometers away from the urban area, covering an area of 44 square kilometers. As of June 2020, yangbei town has one residential community and nine administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Beizhen was 34 thousand and 100.

Yangbei is named for its location to the north of Yanghe town. In the early period of the Republic of China, the area was under the jurisdiction of the third district, and then the Canal District. In 1957, yangbei township was established. In 2000, villages were removed and towns were built. In 2004, it was included in Sucheng district. Yangbei town is a small town near the central canal and Suqian port.

In 2018, yangbei town realized a fixed asset investment of more than 5 million yuan of 2.019 billion yuan and a public budget revenue of 155 million yuan.

History of construction

In the early period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the third district.

In 1956, the territory is now led by the Canal District.

In 1957, yangbei Township, led by Suqian County, was composed of yangbei Township, Hezuo Township and Zhuoma township.

In 1958, yangbei township was renamed yangbei people's commune, which was still led by Suqian county.

In 1983, the rural system was restored and yangbei people's commune was renamed yangbei township.

In 1987, Suqian county was abolished and Suqian City at county level was established, which belongs to yangbei township.

In 1996, Suqian City at county level was abolished and Suqian City at prefecture level was established. Suqian City at county level was divided into Sucheng district and Suyu County, and yangbei township was led by Suyu County.

In 2000, yangbei township was abolished and yangbei town was established.

In 2004, Suyu County was abolished and Suyu District of Suqian City was established. Yangbei town was separated out and classified into Sucheng district.

In 1957, the territory of yangbei township was set up, which was composed of yangbei Township, Hezuo Township, Zhuoma Township and Yuwei village of Zhenglou Township in Siyang County, covering an area of about 61 square kilometers.

In 1982, yangbei people's commune was under the jurisdiction of Huaishu, Luozhuang, Laozhuang, Xiakou, Jiannan, daohuai, shewei, Zhuoma, Zhaowei, Qiaobei, Qili, Zhangzhuang, Chuanxing, Caihe, Xuwei, Youai and yangbei agricultural science station (later renamed as houzhangwei).

In 1983, the commune was renamed a township, the brigade under the commune was renamed a village resident, and the production team under the brigade was renamed a village resident group.

In 2001, the village level administration was adjusted from 17 administrative villages to 13 administrative villages.

In 2011, the territory of yangbei town was reduced. Zhaowei, Zhuoma and Qiaobei of yangbei town were separated out and incorporated into Yanghe new town (later renamed Yanghe New District) for custody (in 2017, Yanghe town), with a total area of about 44 square kilometers.
