Xuanbao town

Xuanbao town is a town under the jurisdiction of Taixing City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the north of Taixing City, passing through xuantai line and Ningtong highway. It borders gensixiang of Taixing City in the south, Huzhuang town of Gaogang District in the East, Xuzhuang street of Gaogang District in the north, Gangkou street in the West and Binjiang town of Taixing City in the southwest.

Xuanbao Town, founded in 1130, is "the first town of Ginkgo in China", "national ecological town" and "a town with beautiful environment in Jiangsu Province". It is supported by four industries, namely, fruit and flower, eco-tourism, industrial cluster and key town construction.

In 2015, Xuanbao town achieved a GDP of 830 million yuan, a fixed asset investment of 233 million yuan, a total fiscal revenue of 99.2203 million yuan, and an annual disposable income of 16712 yuan. The industrial state tax invoice sales and industrial and commercial tax revenue reached 557 million yuan and 52.35 million yuan respectively, with a year-on-year growth of 24.9% and 24.7% respectively.

Xuanbao town covers an area of 32.27 square kilometers, including more than 26500 mu of arable land. It governs 12 administrative villages, 1 community, 203 villager groups, with a total population of 31243 (2017).

Historical evolution

In 1130 A.D., xuanbing, a general under Yue Fei, a national hero of the Song Dynasty, camped here to build a fort to fight against the Jin army.

In July 1946, the first battle of "seven battles and seven victories" between the Soviet Union and China, the first shot of "xuantai battle", was fired at Xuanbao.

In 1949, it was changed into Xuanbao township.

In 1958, Premier Zhou Enlai personally awarded the gold medal, and Xuanbao township was changed into Xuanbao commune.

In 1996, Xuanbao town covers an area of 28 square kilometers and has a population of 30000. It has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages of Xuanbao, Meidong, Meixi, Chongdong, Chongxi, Xiaozhang, Yanchang, Shibao, Zhangbao, yangbao, Guodong, Guoxi, Jigou, Beisen, XISEN, MAOQUN, Yongqing, Zhouli, Lishan, caoshen, Fengji, fanbao, Xixuan and one neighborhood committee of Xuanbao.

In 2009, seven administrative villages including Zhaowang, qiaoyang, Minghe, Qianzhao, Guanying, Kongqiao and caizhuang in Xuanbao town of Taixing City were put under the management of Xuzhuang street in Gaogang District of Taizhou city. After the adjustment, Xuanbao town has an administrative area of 32.96 square kilometers, a population of 31700, and jurisdiction over one neighborhood committee and 12 administrative villages.

Xuanbao town is rich in Ginkgo resources, which is the main production area of Taixing ginkgo. At present, there are 250000 ginkgo trees planted and 160000 ginkgo trees bearing fruit, including 15000 over 100 years old, 6500 over 200 years old and 2 ancient ginkgo trees over 1000 years old. Annual output accounts for more than one sixth of the country, known as "China's first town of ginkgo.".

Xuanbao town is 5km away from Taixing passenger transport center, 35km away from Taizhou railway station and 40km away from Yangzhou Taizhou airport. Xuanbao line and Ningtong highway pass through the city.

In 2015, a total of 250 million yuan was invested in the construction of Xuanbao Town, the scale of the built-up area of the town was expanded to 2.33 square kilometers, and the urbanization rate was 8 percentage points higher than that in 2009, reaching 52.7%. It is said that the 30th of the seventh month of the lunar calendar is the birthday of the king of Tibet. The Bodhisattva is merciful and releases the unjust spirits and wild ghosts to go out to seek the "double" so as to reincarnate as soon as possible. In the area of Dasi, every household burns paper and stone beside Tiantou, changtou, Huangjiao, Sanchakou and maoguan to commemorate the ghosts.
