Daduo town
Daduo town is subordinate to Xinghua City, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is located at the intersection of Ningjing salt Expressway and Gaoxing east highway. It is the "East Gate" of Xinghua City. It is one of the top ten ancient towns in Xinghua City. It is the hometown of zhengbanqiao. Banqiao Forest Park, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, is located in guanruan village.
The town covers an area of 73.63 square kilometers, with a total population of 35621 (in 2017). It has 23 administrative villages, 1 Banqiao community and 1 Xinghua Xinyuan light industry science and Technology Industrial Park.
History of construction
In 195 BC, the 12th year of emperor Gaozu of Xia, Shang, Zhou, Qin and Western Han Dynasties, King Liu Bi of Wu "cooked the sea for a living" in the eastern coastal area of Wu state, including today's Daduo. The ancestors living in Daduo made a living by salt industry and fishery.
In the second year of Jianyan (1128) of the Southern Song Dynasty, the marshland in Xinghua was exposed to the water, and many farmers who had no or no land to cultivate dug up soil and built up fields.
During the song and Yuan Dynasties, Daduo had a large population and developed production, forming a large natural village.
The war against Jin Dynasty in the Southern Song Dynasty and the war at the end of Yuan Dynasty destroyed Daduo seriously, and the production withered for a time.
In the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (about 1368-1372), Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty, carried out "Hongwu scattered" large-scale immigration, and forced hundreds of thousands of people from changmen, Kunshan, Jurong, Zhenjiang and other southern regions of Suzhou to Lixiahe, Yanfu and Huaihe (a brief history of Chinese immigration). Daduo, which was inhabited by Lu, Sha, Wang and Wu, rose again.
In 1402, the fourth year of Jianwen in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, the king of Yan, set up an army in "Jingnan". Some Jiangnan residents moved to Daduo to avoid chaos.
During the reign of Longqing and Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1567-1620), Daduo town developed further and became an important market town in Xinghua.
In the Qing Dynasty, Daduo was as famous as Anfeng, Daiyao, Zhuhong, Dazou, Tangzi, Zhongbao, Baiju, Liuzhuang and Xiaohai, becoming one of the "top ten towns in Xinghua". Its central area was under the jurisdiction of zaosili in Xinghua County.
In 1853, the Taiping army occupied Jiangnan, and some residents of Jiangning, Zhenjiang, Jurong and Suzhou moved to Daduo.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Xinghua City township system, Daduo for Daduo township.
In 1934, the Baojia system was implemented, and Daduo belonged to the second district.
In 1941, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Xinghua County was established, and Daduo belonged to Lincheng district.
In October 1943, part of Daduo District belonged to Caofeng district.
From December 1943 to 1949, parts of Daduo were subordinate to Xingdong county and Qintong county.
In September 1949, Daduo still belonged to Xinghua County.
In 1983, Xinghua built a township and Daduo became Daduo township.
In December 1986, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government, Daduo township was established as Daduo town.

Railway
Xinchang railway and Ningqi railway are connected with Longhai line, Beijing Shanghai line and Zhejiang Jiangxi line. Xinchang railway has passenger station and freight station in Xinghua.
Inland water transport
In Daduo Town, there are channels connecting the Yellow Sea in the East, the Yangtze River in the South and the Hangzhou Grand Canal in the West. The provincial channel Chelu river is close to the north of the town, and the provincial channels Zixin River and xintanggang River crisscross the town.
