Haimen port New Area

Gangxin District of Haimen District, located in Haimen District of Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, is an important economic growth pole full of potential, vitality and sustainability created by Jiangsu Province in response to the national coastal development strategy. With a total planning area of 165.42 square kilometers (2017), the new area has 25 kilometers of gold coastline, including 15 kilometers of coastline that can build 50-100 thousand ton deep-water harbor terminals. Historical evolution

Before liberation

HaimenGang new area was one of the top ten salt farms in Huainan during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. In 1909, it was under the jurisdiction of the third urban area of Yudong. In the 29th year of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Liujia District of Nantong county.

After liberation

Baochang: Baochang, Changbei, Henan, Baonan, Tuanjie, Huzhu, Xinyu, Tonghe and other townships were set up in 1949, and then the townships were merged into communes. Baochang and Xinyu townships were changed in 1983, Baochang town was set up in 1987, and Xinyu township was merged in 1992.

Liu Hao: toujia, Tongxing, Xinmin, Tuanjie and other townships were set up in 1949, and Liu Hao township was later merged and juxtaposed. It was changed into a commune in 1958 and a township in 1983.

Dongzao: it was called Jianghai fishery Working Committee in 1958, changed to Jianghai fishery commune in 1960, changed to Dongzao fishery commune in 1981, and changed to Dongzao Township in 1983.

Dongxing: Zhenbei Township, Youai Township, Huzhu Township and Hezuo Township were established in 1949, and then Dongxing township was merged. It was changed into commune in 1958 and township in 1983.

In 1996, Dongzao Township and Dongxing Township merged to establish Dongzaogang town.

Resources of Liya mountain

Three nautical miles to the northeast of Dongzaogang seawall is a group of muddy reefs. The reefs are formed when the tide rises and falls, and the islands are formed when the tide falls.
