"The seven laws of Guanzi:" if you want to govern the people without knowing the law, you should write on the left and rest on the right. " Yin Zhizhang notes: "breath, stop also A man can read with his right hand, but not with his left. Now it's like writing with your left hand and resting with your right hand
The so-called "seven methods" of Guanzi refer to rule, image, method, transformation, resolving obstruction, mental skill and counting. It aims to expound the seven fundamental principles of governing the country and the army.
Guan Zi thinks: if you don't master the "rules" and want to legislate, it's like inserting a time measuring pole on a rotating pottery wheel and shaking a bamboo pole to stabilize its end. If you don't understand "Xiang", if you want to use people according to their aptitude, it's just like breaking the long for the short and connecting the short for the long. If you don't understand the law and want to govern the people and unify the masses, it's like writing with your left hand and stopping with your right. It's like making wheels in the morning and taking a bus at night. If we don't understand the idea of "stopping congestion", we are like commanding the masses, just like ordering the river to flow backwards. If you don't know "mental skill", you want to command others, just like shooting with your back to the target and requiring you to hit it. If you don't know how to count, you want to do something, just like if you want to cross the rapids without boats.
If the above "Seven Laws" are fully applied in social and political life, we can achieve such a state: adopt correct opinions; abolish wrong views; reward for meritorious service and punish for guilty; and with military strength and equipment, the country can be well governed.
