Idiom story
It is said that when the first emperor of Qin Dynasty "burned books to pit scholars", Fu Sheng, a doctor of the imperial court, risked his life and smuggled out more than 1000 volumes of bamboo slips from Xianyang. He trudged around and hid them in Eryou cave, so that the cultural classics of the pre Qin Dynasty could be handed down to later generations. This is the origin of the idiom "learning is rich and learning is complete". These slips were dedicated to Liu Bang, the great ancestor of the Han Dynasty, when the Qin Dynasty destroyed the prosperity of the Han Dynasty. Liu Bang was very happy when he got a large number of slips before the Qin Dynasty presented by Fu Sheng. He personally sealed Eryou library cave as a "cultural holy cave" and established Eryou mountain as a "famous mountain in the world". Since then, Eryou cave in Eryou mountain has become a holy mark in the world and a place that scholars yearn for and pursue all their lives. Later, the literati of all dynasties went to Eryou to pay homage, leaving a large number of poems and articles. Once upon a time, there were courtyards and pavilions built on the mountain. The Fusheng palace built to commemorate Fusheng and the library pavilion built to protect Eryou cave are typical architectural representatives. At the bottom of the shanbanshidong cave, there are four characters of "ancient library" inscribed on the tablet inscribed by Zhang HENGJIA, the fourth president of Peking University and Hunan inspector, in February 1890.
