Life of the characters
When Yuelu Buhua was young with his father Tuo Timur in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, he was a teacher of Han Xing and was able to write. He took part in the provincial rural examination of Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province, ranking first on the right list. In the first year of Yuantong (1333), he was a Jinshi, who was awarded the official general Shi Lang and Taizhou Lu Lu Lu Si Si Da Lu Hua Chi. Seeing that there were no schools in the counties along the road, he first built a Confucian temple as a school and employed Confucian scholars as teachers to educate the younger generation. When his father died, he resigned and mourned at home.
In the first year of Zhizheng reign (1341), the imperial court set up the water supervision department of Xingdu. Yuelu Buhua was selected as the water supervision department of Xingdu, and soon he was promoted to the Department of Lianfang in Guangdong. The imperial court agreed to harness the Yellow River and called him back to Beijing to be the water governor of Xingdu. However, when he arrived, he was changed to a Jixian Daizhi and later appointed as wailang, a member of the Ministry of officials. When Yuelu Buhua was a member of the Ministry of official affairs, he was ordered to buy 240000 millet stones in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. After he arrived in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, he decided how much millet he bought according to the wealth of his family, so that he could buy millet without disturbing the people. Later, due to the lack of military pay, he was once again ordered to buy grain in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and completed the task in less than January. When his mother died, Yuelu Buhua mourned at home. Zhongshu province sent someone to help him with the funeral, and appointed him back to court as an official. He refused to be an official because his filial piety was not over.
Soon after, the Taishi and the right prime minister took off the southern expedition and called Yuelu not to take part in military affairs. They were responsible for supervising the transportation of grain and pay. He was promoted to be a doctor of the Ministry of official affairs and soon paid homage to the censor. After taking office, he first proposed that "the emperor should personally go to the southern suburbs to worship heaven and often go to the temple to worship his ancestors.". It is also suggested that "senior ministers should be appointed to guide the prince, so as to cultivate the prince's virtue". These opinions were praised and adopted by Emperor Shun. At that time, people praised him for his selflessness. Some people in the imperial court suggested that 300 sea going ships should be built in Hejian and Changlu. Yuelu didn't write a letter pointing out that it was not proper, so he was transferred to be the Minister of the Ministry of work in violation of someone's opinion in Zhongshu province. He inspected Zhangde. When he passed Hejian, the people stopped him in groups to thank him: "if you don't speak, we will die."
The imperial court selects local governors. Because Baoding is close to the capital, Lu Buhua was chosen as Lu Huachi. Baoding transports hundreds of thousands of grains to Xinxiang every year. Because of the inconvenience of transportation, Yuelu does not ask to transport them to the warehouse in the capital. Soon he was appointed Minister of the Ministry of officials, and hundreds of Baoding fathers and elders came to the court to retain him, so Yuelu Buhua took charge of Baoding road administration as minister. When the anti yuan rebels crossed the Yellow River northward, Yuelu did not spend time digging trenches in Baoding to prepare for the enemy. The imperial court planned to enlist the eight guards of five provinces to guard the outer towns. Yuelu did not spend the time to ask to keep the soldiers and horses in the county to guard the county, which was approved. As a result, he unified thousands of local troops and black army, and united with 82 village of Xishan for common defense. The rebel army was disadvantageous to attack and withdrew. The imperial court promoted Lu Buhua to be a doctor of Zhongfeng, and gave him four or a hundred horses. Other meritorious military assistants were rewarded. The imperial court called him back to Beijing to serve as a detailed envoy, and the people of Baoding painted his statue to worship and express their nostalgia. Yuelu Buhua left Baoding for only one month, and Baoding was captured by the rebels. Because Yuelu didn't pay much attention to his popularity, the imperial court ordered him to go to Baoding to recruit anti yuan rebel troops, but it was not successful. Only some people secretly came out of the city to pay a visit to him.
Yuelu Buhua was transferred to Dadu luhuachi, and then to minister of the Ministry of officials. Cheng Sizhong, an anti yuan rebel army, occupies Yongping. His deputy general Lei Timur does not surrender. He is found and killed. He sticks to Yongping. In spite of the danger of his life, Yuelu Buhua was ordered to surrender the rebel army. After returning to Beijing, he became a scholar of the Imperial Academy, and soon he was appointed as Luda luhuachi. Emperor Shun said to him in Xuanwen Pavilion: "because I know that the people in the capital area are hard-working, I specially send you to appease them. You should not be too strict with the people, and you should not let them break the law. If someone interferes with your government affairs illegally, report to the Imperial court immediately." When he arrived at his post, if a powerful minister came to ask him to exempt him from labor, Yue Lu Buhua rebuked him face to face and said, "I dare not disobey the holy precepts." Later, he served as Zishan's official and paid homage to Jiangnan as Taichung Cheng. He arrived in Shaoxing from Haidao. Yuelu didn't spend much time in Jiangnan to be lenient and strict in politics. The imperial court ordered him to be a senior official of Ronglu. Soon he was appointed as a visiting envoy of Suzheng and Lian in Western Zhejiang.
At this time, Zhang Shicheng, the rebel army of the Yuan Dynasty, took possession of the west of Zhejiang Province and called him king Cheng. Yue Lu Buhua saw that he could not stand side by side with Zhang Shicheng, and ordered his nephew to prepare for the boat with his birthday. His family moved to Qingyuan. Soon after, he was appointed as the visiting envoy of Shannan Dao Lian. Since Qingyuan, he went north by sea and met Japanese pirates in Tieshan. Yuelu Buhua led the boat people to fight with Japanese pirates, and was captured and killed. More than 80 people died in the same boat. When the imperial court heard the obituary, it presented him with an official of Xuanzhong, Xuanwu, Zhengxian, Yinqing, Ronglu, Liaoyang, etc. who was in charge of the provincial government affairs, Shangzhu state and Zhongsu.
