Zeng Weizi is a Taoist. He is from Nanfeng, Jiangxi Province. The ninth grandson of Zeng Yizhan. Minister of the Southern Song Dynasty.

Entering Taixue, he was very talented and praised. During the reign of emperor li Zong of Song Dynasty (1253-1258), Ding Daquan, the imperial censor in the palace, used autocracy to tamper with the imperial edict and expelled Dong Huai, the right prime minister, from the imperial court. Zeng Wei said that this is disturbing the country. So he and his classmates Chen Yizhong, Huang Yong, Lin zezu, Liu Fu, Chen Zong and so on, jointly wrote a letter, trying to state that Ding Daquan was a traitor. Infuriated, Ding Daquan faked an imperial edict to dismiss them and take charge of Yazhou (Sanya, Hainan). After Ding Daquan was demoted, they were excused from crime and came back. They were called "Six Gentlemen" at that time. The first year of Deyou (1275) was for living and sacrificing.
