Life experience
Song Dazhong Xiangfu first year (1008) Jinshi. Lei was appointed secretary Cheng, Raozhou was the judge, and later Dr. Taichang was the censor. At that time, it was just after Zhenzong and Liao entered into the Treaty of Chanyuan, during the middle and declining period of Song Dynasty, xiugu was deeply disturbed by the situation of seeking peace at that time, and he was determined to rectify the principles and regulations in order to promote the prosperity of Song Dynasty. In the first year of Tiansheng (1023), Renzong took over the throne and put forward four major political measures, namely, carrying out decrees, examining political affairs, cherishing financial resources and distinguishing loyalty and evil. For the old court officials who are in service, since they are old and frail, they should be retired. In particular, the story of Emperor Taizong's reign of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty is cited. The specific method is that if the civil and military officials are 70 years old, they can automatically request to be transferred or resign from their posts, no matter they are famous generals or meritorious officials. Renzong approved the performance, so he issued an imperial edict as the system. xiugu also attached great importance to official etiquette. The official system of Yushitai in Song Dynasty was to assist the emperor and supervise the officials of the imperial court. On one occasion, xiugu and the Royal censor of Sanyuan were 12 people. In the early days, there were two yellow gate officials riding on horseback. Xiugu asked them to give way, but they were insulted. Xiugu immediately told the emperor, "the censor is the son of heaven. Now Huangmen dare to violate the rules, denounce the censor to such a rampant extent, and ask the emperor to punish him." Yan Shu was a famous poet at that time. He was the Deputy envoy of Shu MI and beat people with wat. He told the emperor that "as a minister of Fu Bi, Yan Shu's words and deeds will become a model for all officials to follow. However, he was so angry and impatient that he beat people with Wat, which greatly lost the integrity of the minister. Please punish him according to the classics to maintain the public opinion." During the reign of emperor Zhenzong, Dasheng created "Tianshu" and "Fengchan". In 1011, in the fourth year of Dazhong Xiangfu, Tianfu festival was revised by Tianshu. The next year, the construction of Jingde palace and Taiji temple in Shouqiu and the construction of yuqingzhaoying palace in the capital cost countless. In Renzong's time, he still advocated the construction of pagoda temple and Yingjin Pavilion. In the palace, jadeite was also used as clothing and playthings. He once issued an imperial edict to purchase in Vietnam. Xiugu can't say anything about these extravagances. Please recall. He lived frugally and sparingly in the past. He was poor and could not be buried when he died. His colleagues in the government and local people in Xinghua donated 500000 yuan. His second daughter cried and told his mother, "my father is famous for his loyalty. Unfortunately, now he is demoted to death. How can he accept donations from others and contaminate my father's virtue?" Finally declined the gift. After the death of Empress Dowager Zhang, in 1033, Renzong missed Cao xiugu as an official Zhongzhi, and presented him with a right counsellor and 200000 yuan to his family.
