Cao Renhai (1905-1932) was born in Nanyang Village, Hongfang Township, Longyan County, Fujian Province. At the beginning of 1929, he took part in the revolutionary struggle and soon joined the Communist Party of China.

He once served as a member of the workers and peasants' riot team in Nanyang Township of Longyan County, and participated in the struggle of the Longyan riot and the establishment of the revolutionary base of Longyan. After June 1929, he successively served as member, vice chairman and chairman of the Soviet government of Hongfang district. He took part in the anti "clean up and suppression" struggle, the agrarian revolutionary struggle in the revolutionary base area of Western Fujian and the anti "encirclement and suppression" guerrilla war in the Central Soviet area. In 1932, he was killed by the enemy when he was on a mission in Dongxiao.
