Xiaoqing, a Daur nationality, was born in Hailar City, Inner Mongolia in 1959, went to the countryside in Hulunbeier Grassland in 1976, graduated from Zhalantun normal school, Inner Mongolia in 1980, majored in fine arts, graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1986, graduated from Central University for Nationalities in 1995, master of Arts (Tutor: Professor Liu Bingjiang, Professor Luo Yi) settled in Canada in 1999. Now he is associate professor and director of the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Zhongguancun University.
