Shiji (1678-1720), named woyuan, was born in Tongcheng, Anhui Province. When Shiji was one year old, he moved to Jinling (now Nanjing) with his mother Wu, and lost his mother at the age of 7. As he grew older, Wang Yuanqi, a great painter at that time, appreciated him because he was fond of learning Gongshi and good at painting.

Life of the characters

Emperor Kangxi 48 years (1709) in the Jinshi, granted cabinet secretary. The next year, I went home to visit my relatives, and it happened that the case of "Nanshan Ji" happened. Because Fang xiaobiao, a member of the clan, was written in several places in the collection of Nanshan, the whole family was implicated, and four of them were relegated to bukuicheng (today's Qiqihar) in Heilongjiang Province at the same time.

Main achievements

The long-term life in the frontier has made Shiji have a strong interest in the local customs, so he climbed mountains and rivers, made on-the-spot investigation, consulted a large number of materials, and described in detail the mountains and rivers, ethnic distribution, products, resources and historical evolution in the frontier, and wrote a book named "a brief history of Longsha". This book is a famous chronicle of the Qing Dynasty, which was later included in Sikuquanshu.

His father, Fang Dengfeng (the year of his birth is unknown), was named Fuzong and Pinggou. He was Gongsheng in 1694 and was appointed as the head of Dushui Department of the Ministry of industry. Dai Mingshi was relegated to bukui of Heilongjiang Province because of his involvement in the case of Nanshan collection. His works include Yi Yuan Shi Lue, Xing Yan Zhai Cun manuscript, Gou Yan Yin, Bao Su Zhai Ji, Ru Shi Zhai Cun manuscript, etc.

Master Wang Yuanqi (1642-1715) [Qing] word Maojing, Lu Tai, Shi Shi Taoist, Jiangsu Taicang people, Wang Shimin sun. Kangxi nine years (1670) Jinshi, official to the Ministry of the minister, known as Wang sinang. In the 44th year of Kangxi reign, he compiled peiwenzhai calligraphy and painting manual with Sun Yue and song Junye. In the 56th year, he presided over the painting of Wanshou grand ceremony to celebrate Emperor Kangxi's birthday. He is good at landscape painting, inherits the family law, and learns from the four schools of Yuan Dynasty. He takes Huang Gongwang as his master. He likes to use dry brush to focus ink, layer upon layer to brush and use pen calmly. He claims that there is a diamond pestle at the end of the pen. It advocates that a good painting should be original, free from the constraints of the ancient law, mature but not sweet, raw but not astringent, light and thick, solid and clear, full of the spirit of the book, and out of the paper and ink.

Anecdotes and allusions

Shiji and his younger brother Fang Xinchuan once stayed outside. The younger brother was infected with the disease, and everyone fled. However, Shiji always took care of the younger brother and lived in the same room, waiting for the younger brother to recover.

The leader of the frontier guard wanted to separate his relatives from each other, sold his clothes and got through his joints, so that he could live together. Shiji went up the mountain to collect firewood in the snowstorm. His hands often broke and bled, but he always talked and laughed in front of his father. Between father and son, they call themselves "teachers and friends" and often study Confucian classics together.
