Xu Fu

Xu Yu (474-551), a famous poet in the Southern Dynasty, was born in Tancheng of Donghai (today's Tancheng of Shandong Province). He was one of the representatives of "Gong Ti Shi". He was also called "Da Xu Yu" together with Yu Jianwu.

He was born in Donghai Xu, a famous family. He loved to learn when he was young. When he was older, he had read all the classics and history books. I like to be unconventional and not stick to the existing style when writing articles. He and his son Xu Ling were loved by Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty. They often went to the Imperial Palace, and they were greatly favored.

In 551, because emperor Jianwen of Liang Dynasty was imprisoned and could not go to court, he died of illness in resentment and died at the age of 78.

Life of the characters
