Xu Shang
Xu Shang, yiyiyisheng, yiziqiuqing, was born in Xinzheng of Zhengzhou. He was the fifth grandson of Xu Yougong, the Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty and the Minister of the Ministry of punishment. He was the father of Xu yanruo, the Prime Minister of the late Tang Dynasty.
Born in the Xu family of Donghai, he was a Jinshi in the fifth year of Taihe (831) of emperor Wenzong of the Tang Dynasty. He was awarded the Secretary of the provincial school Shulang, and served successively as a royal censor and a member of the Ministry of rites wailang. In the seventh year of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (853), He Zhong Jiedushi was worshipped, and in the tenth year (856), Shannan Dongdao Jiedushi was transferred. Life of the characters
Xu Shang lived in seclusion in Zhongtiaoshan when he was young. He became a scholar in the fifth year of Taihe (831) of emperor Wenzong of the Tang Dynasty and became a secretary of the provincial school. Lei Qian served the censor and changed to wailang, a member of the Ministry of rites. Before long, he changed his knowledge and turned to a doctor. In the third year of Huichang (843) of emperor Wuzong of Tang Dynasty, he became an academician and later worshipped Zhongshu.
Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty ascended the throne and was promoted to Zuo Cheng, the Minister of state. He was appointed as an envoy to patrol the border. In the seventh year of Dazhong (853), there was a Turkic remnant stationed in te'e mountain. One thousand of them crossed the Yellow River and took the initiative to submit to the Tang Dynasty and ordered Xu merchants to appease them. Xu Shangbiao asked the imperial court to let them settle down in a place with a large number of people and a small number of people in shandongtian, and form an army for the need of conquest. There were a total of 1000 people, with origami as armor and no hard bow to shoot through.
In the 10th year of Dazhong (856), he was transferred to Shannan Dongdao Jiedushi. Xiangzhou (now Xiangyang, Hubei Province) was in charge of many mountain hunters. There were not a few fierce thieves. Xu Shang chose brave soldiers as the captors and stationed them alone. Wherever there were thieves, he went to hunt them. As long as he attacked, he would succeed and become elite. In the 12th year of Dazhong (858), Jiangxi General Mao he set up troops in Hongzhou (today's Nanchang, Jiangxi). The imperial court sent Wei Zhou to put an end to the chaos. Wei Zhou arrived in Xiangzhou by post car. Xu Shang ordered Han Jiyou to lead the robber camp to Hongzhou. Han Jiyou led his troops to set out at night and went to Hongzhou the next morning. After the chaos was settled, Wei Zhou left 200 captors to maintain public order, and Han Jiyou was the capital of Yu.
In the first year of Xiantong (860), Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty entered the court as a censor. He was promoted to the Minister of the Ministry of punishment and served as an envoy of salt and iron transportation. He also moved to the Minister of the Ministry of war and was granted the title of the son of Dongguan county. In the sixth year of Xiantong (863), he paid homage to the book of Tongzhong. In the 10th year of Xiantong (869), he was appointed as the governor of Jingnan, and later returned to Beijing to serve as the Minister of the Ministry of officials. He was the progressive Prince and Taibao, and then died.
Anecdotes and allusions
When Xu Shang was appointed governor of Hezhong, there was a servant named Liu An. Because his mother was ill, Liu An went to the drugstore to collect medicine under the pretext of Xu Shang. He didn't give any money, and he also spoke rudely to the drugstore manager, who told him to Xu Shang. Xu Shang summoned all the servants in the Yamen and read out the letter from the drugstore manager. Liu An trembled with fear. Xu Shang said to him seriously, "you should be punished for bullying others. You should be punished for doing a month's work in the drugstore and deducting this month's salary. If you do well, you can come back. Would you like to Liu An listened, scared: "villain willing, villain willing."
A month later, Liu An got understanding and returned to Xu Shang. Xu Shang publicly announced the end of Liu An's punishment and gave him a purse: "this is your salary for two months. Take it back to treat your mother." Liu An didn't understand: "didn't you say that you would be fined for one month last time? Why send me another two months? " Xu Shang said with a smile, "you've done something wrong, but you can't implicate your mother. She's not wrong. The reason why I give you two months' salary is that if you make mistakes, you can change it. Your salary is not high. If you have all been punished, what will you do to support your mother? "
