Xu Jie, a native of Song Dynasty, was born in Yangzhai (now Yuzhou, Henan).

There is one poem named "ancestral hall of Du Gongbu in Leiyang" in the whole Tang poetry. Xu Jie, a native of the Song Dynasty, was born in Yangzhai (now Yuzhou, Henan Province). During the reign of emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty, he served as qiandeling, Tongjian Xixi salt warehouse, changed his works to Zuo Lang, and became an official to tuntian doctor (or yuanwailang). A collection of poems has been lost. Ouyang Xiu and Wang Dechen praised his poems for their simplicity and plainness. The deeds can be seen in the volume of Zhushi, Volume 9 of the first collection of qingsuo Gaoyi and volume 9 of Zhonghui. The whole Tang poetry is mistaken for the income of the Tang people. Xu Jie's poem is included in volume 2-5 of the chronicle of Song poetry.
