Zhang Yi (1071-1108) was born in dongqilidian, Shouan (now Dongdian village, Jinping Town, Yiyang County). Cheng Yi, one of the two disciples in his later years, was a famous scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty. The ancestral temple was built at the foot of Jinping Mountain. It is said that it was the place where Uncle Si studied, but it no longer exists.
Life story:
Zhang Sishu, the elder brother of Yichuan. This is a restaurant, like for poetry, although pick up the proverb for it, often reasonable. Xie Xiandao saw that his poems were different, so he called him to meet him. When it comes to Meiyu, the result is extraordinary, and Xiandao is said: "why not go to study?" Uncle Si said, "how dare you read a book Xiandao said: "everyone who studies has his share. If he looks at his son's eyebrows, he should be the one in my way." Then he asked, "what book should I read?" He said, "read the Analects of Confucius." Therefore, I bought the Analects to read. After reading the Analects of Confucius, he saw the obvious way and said, "what can I do after reading the Analects of Confucius?" "See Mr. Cheng," he said Uncle Si said, "who dares to build Mr. Cheng's gate?" Xiandao said: "the first door to the teacher, no high or low, but aspire to scholars, that is to accept the ear." Sishu then went to see Yichuan, showing the way for Yichuan first, then Yichuan stayed at the door. One day when he sat down, Yichuan asked, "the book of records says: if there is anger, there is no right; if there is fear, there is no right; if there is happiness, there is no right; if there is worry, there is no right. Where is the right?" Therefore, he was able to reflect on his words. Later, Sichu was the most popular scholar of Yichuan. In today's Yichuan collection, there are ten poems about Yichuan's sacrificial rites, but Uncle Si's literary theory is very delicate, and he is outstanding above all the other officials.
Uncle Si is talented. Because of the poverty of his family, he was so young that he had no schooling. For the sake of living, he often worked as an employee in the market. One day, I saw the county magistrate blowing gongs to clear the road. He was very strict in protecting people and was prominent in the city. "How can you make a great success?" he asked Many people say, "only by studying and selecting subjects can we ascend the official career." From then on, uncle Si became angry and studied. Later, he returned from Sichuan to Henan. Uncle Si went to study under Cheng Yi's door. After reading Mencius, he suddenly realized that "the people with lofty ideals don't forget to be in the gully". Then he took fame as the least and morality as the most important, and wrote a motto to reflect on himself. Uncle Si is full of erudite and quick witted. Although he has the talent of "picking up green and purple as Mustard", he regards "Sima Gao Gai as a floating cloud". In the past, the envy of the county magistrate, smoke scattered ice disappear, do not read for fame. Three times, the imperial court recruited him, but he declined.
Uncle Si and Luo Yang Yin juxtaposed under Cheng Fu Zi's family. They were tall and good at writing. Cheng Yi returned to Luoyang from Fuling, where he was exiled, and was listed as a traitor by Cai Jing. In order to avoid political suspicion, his former disciples did not dare to approach him. However, Zhang Yi and Yin Zhen have been following Cheng Yi to study and take care of his life. When Cheng Yi died of illness, his friends and students in Luoyang did not dare to go to the funeral. Only Zhang Yi, Yin Zhen, Fan Yu and Meng Hou sent him to his death. Cheng Yi's Yi Zhuan, written in Fuling, has been around for seven or eight years, but has not been allowed to spread. Before he died, he passed it on to Uncle Si and Yin Zhen. This shows that Cheng Yi has great trust in them, and they are the direct successors of Cheng Yi's scholarship.
After Cheng Yi's death, Zhang Yi and Yin Fei inherited his instructions and gathered together in Luoyang to give lectures and concentrate on writing. After his death, the imperial court of the Northern Song Dynasty presented him with a bachelor's degree. People built a temple for him at the foot of Jinping Mountain (today's Yiyang County). He died at the age of 37, and Kuang studied late, so his writing is rare in the world. There are only "Zhang Sishu's motto", "Shishuo", "Jicheng Yichuan Wen" and "Ming Delu", which are not widely spread. Until the autumn of the third year of tongzhi (1864), county magistrate henglun respected his noble character and sent people to visit his works and try to read them. Three years later, Zhang, a member of the sect, came to visit with books, which henglun regarded as a treasure. He also compiled a poem of seeing off friends written by Uncle Si and a song of thinking about Tang in Jiangzhou, which was engraved into the original of Ming deliu by Wu Xiang jiuchu, a native of the city.
