Zhang zhenkui
Zhang zhenkui (1798-1866) was a famous scholar and educator in Qing Dynasty.
Life of the characters
Zhang zhenkui, with the name of Qing'an and the name of Qian'an, was born in Xialong street, Yongjia town (now called Sinan village, Yongxing street, Longwan District). In 1818, the twenty third year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, there were two people. At the age of 28, he did not want to be a county magistrate, but chose Changshan County as a teacher. He served as a teacher in Zhenhai County for three times. Proficient in classics and history, good at ancient words, and understand military, water conservancy, law calendar, medicine. During his tenure in Zhenhai, the Opium War broke out and he took an active part in the local anti British struggle. He wrote a letter and put forward the strategy of war and defense, and also took charge of the logistics of Zhenhai. When Lin Zexu came to Zhejiang, he presented the picture of warships, which showed his lofty patriotism. He has 20 volumes of Jie Xuan Ji.
Educational philosophy
Zhang zhenkui had advanced educational thought, advocated six arts education, cared about local public welfare after leaving, organized League training, changed training methods, promoted water conservancy, built ponds, and paid attention to education and social welfare. His family style is rigorous, and there are many celebrities in his descendants. According to genealogical statistics, more than 30 descendants have made outstanding contributions in the fields of education, medical treatment and scientific research. Prominent among them are Zhang Zhaoqian and Zhang Shuyi, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, known as "two academicians of one discipline".
Character's former residence
The former residence of Zhang zhenkui is located at No. 381 Xialong street, Yongxing street, Longwan District. The decorative lattice of the roof and the wood carving patterns on the column head of the partition board come into view. This is a three Bay courtyard. The former residence is just three rooms in the southwest corner of the whole Zhang's courtyard building, commonly known as Jiexuan, with a construction area of about 90 square meters. It was rebuilt at the end of 2008. The whole building was built between Yongzheng and Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, covering an area of about 378 square meters. It is surrounded by front hall, patio, East and West Wing rooms, main house, backyard and enclosure. Because of the widening of the road, the northeast wing house was demolished and changed into a road. The front hall was rebuilt into a four story building. The main house was later converted into a two-story building. The original stone paved backyard is now a road.
