Zhang Zhuo was born in 1940. His original name was Zhang Chunzhi and his pen name was Zhang Zhuo. He is a famous contemporary Chinese painter, born in Weinan, Shaanxi Province, honorary president of Shaanxi Academy of calligraphy and painting, art consultant and craft artist of Linyi Young Artists Association, Shandong Province. In June 1996, he was awarded the title of worker artist by the Propaganda Department of Shaanxi provincial Party committee, the Provincial Department of culture and the Provincial Federation of trade unions. He was once a member of the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th CPPCC Committee of Weinan City, and a former judge of intermediate craft artists of Weinan City.

Under the guidance of Zen moon master Guan Xiu, scholar Zhang Zhuo studied with monk Shishuang. Shi Shuang asked, "what's the name of the scholar?" Zhang Zhuo replied, "my name is Zhang Zhuo."
