Zhang Xuelin, male, from Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. Born in 1928. In 1944, he took part in the Anti Japanese revolutionary work and became a soldier, chief and guard of the 33rd regiment of the 11th brigade of the fourth division of the New Fourth Army (later reorganized into the 34th regiment of the eighth division of the central China Military Region of the New Fourth Army). In the winter of 1946, he took part in the "Longhai campaign" with his troops (34 regiment of the eighth division of the central China Military Region of the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan Field Army). He was wounded in the battle of yandazhuang in Bozhou City, Anhui Province because of his bravery. It was identified as "third class a" disability. The intracranial shrapnel could not be removed and could not be recovered.
In 1947, he carried out the great military strategic action of "leaping into the Dabie Mountains".
In 1948, he took part in the pursuit of Huang Wei on the river and the famous "Huaihai Campaign" with his troops (the 34th regiment of the independent brigade of Henan Anhui Soviet military region of the Central Plains Field Army). As a member of the East Group, he took part in the great battle of encircling and annihilating the Huang Wei regiment of the Kuomintang.
In 1949, his unit was reorganized into 158 regiment, 53rd division, 18th army, 5th corps, 2nd field army of Chinese people's Liberation Army. Later, he took part in the famous "crossing the river campaign" and liberated Jiangxi, Hunan and other provinces. In the process of "liberating the southwest", he participated in the liberation of Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Xikang and other provinces. In December of that year, he took part in the "Chengdu campaign" with his troops and forced Chiang out of the mainland.
From 1946 to 1949, he successively held the posts of deputy monitor, monitor and Deputy platoon leader.
In June 1950, his troops set out from Leshan, Sichuan, and began the glorious process of "liberating Tibet.". All the way, he overcame the arduous difficulties of climbing mountains and suffering from hypoxia and freezing, and then took on the arduous task of building the "kangzang highway". He was also wounded in the battle of the southern line of the "Changdu campaign". He was transferred to Ya'an Hospital of Xikang provincial government for treatment, and was visited by Premier Zhou Enlai. When he recovered, he returned to the army and continued to work.
From June 1950 to June 1953, he served successively as platoon commander and deputy company commander.
In June 1953, he was transferred from Tibet to work in Sichuan.
From June 1953 to 1959, he successively served as the squadron leader of Sichuan Rongshan reform through labor corps and Sichuan Wangcang reform through labor corps.
From 1959 to 1968, he successively worked in the military control commission of a factory in Chongqing and the Public Security Department of Sichuan Province, and successively held the posts of deputy section chief, section chief and deputy director (the specific title has been given).
During the "Cultural Revolution" in 1968, due to the exclusion of some personnel, he resigned and returned to Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province.
On the afternoon of March 22, 1976, he arrived in Beijing by train from Fuliji, Anhui Province on the morning of March 23. He was the first to lay a wreath to Premier Zhou Enlai in Tiananmen Square. After returning to Suixi County, he was censored and persecuted by the gang of four, and was slandered by "black materials".
On November 23, 1978, Suixi County Party committee rehabilitated him and destroyed the black materials. After returning to Sichuan several times to collect information and appealing to Beijing many times, his cadre's treatment was finally restored in 1982. After returning to his hometown in 1968, the old man lived in Guangrong Hospital of Suixi County, Huaibei City with his family.
In 2005, he was awarded the "60th anniversary Medal of the victory of the Chinese people's Anti Japanese War".
In January 2009, he died in Suixi people's Hospital of Huaibei City, Anhui Province at the age of 81.
