Social evaluation
Ji Xianlin: "high man, easy man, perfect man, Superman".
All his life, Mr. BOC was a low-key and indifferent man. He once lived in his daughter's home in Yanyuan all the year round. He was poor all his life. When he was 86 years old, he was assigned an ordinary three bedroom apartment. The furnishings in the room were very simple, and there was almost nothing but two bookcases. The old man nicknamed his residence "city chaimen". His study is full of books. There are four treasures and pieces of manuscript on the desk. There are antiques in the bookcase, mostly stones.
Zhang Laoqian called the study like a "warehouse". On the other hand, he was meticulous in his academic research. In his later years, he still criticized Nan Huaijin, a "master of traditional Chinese culture" in Taiwan, which is a true portrayal of the style of scholars in the "post may 4th era". Recalling Mr. Zhang, some people sigh: "he has the style of an ancient literati", and even later generations praise: "the old man has backbone.".
Mr. Zhang Zhongxing is rigorous, knowledgeable, profound, proficient in Chinese classical writing, familiar with western philosophy. Together with Ji Xianlin (August 6, 1911 - July 11, 2009) and Jin Kemu (August 14, 1912 - August 5, 2000), he was known as the "three elders of Yanyuan". Together with Deng Guangming (March 16, 1907 - January 10, 1998), they were called "the four elders of Weiming".
Mr. Xu Yi: he has a wide range of knowledge and records, covering many fields such as literature and history, classicism, Buddhism and philosophy. He is known as "zajia". Chinese, classical Chinese and philosophy of life are the more specialized ones. Life for the text, to "loyal to writing, not to write, write with the true face of people" as the creed.
