Liao Zhongan
Liao Zhongan (1925-2017), formerly known as Yin Yanhui, was born in Xichang, Sichuan Province. He is a member of the Communist Party of China. He is a famous writer, poet, sinologist, Professor of Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University (now school of Arts of Capital Normal University), and adjunct professor of Institute of literature, history and philosophy of Shandong University.
His works include Tao Yuanming and ruminant collection.
He died in Beijing at 7:00 on April 19, 2017 at the age of 92.
Life of the characters
Mr. Liao Zhongan graduated from the normal college of Southwest Associated University and the Chinese Department of Peking University in his early years, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1948. After 1949, he successively served as a cadre of Beijing Municipal Bureau of education, Propaganda Department of CPC Municipal Committee and Ministry of education, lecturer and professor of Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University, Professor of School of literature of Capital Normal University, part-time professor of Institute of literature, history and philosophy of Shandong University, first executive director of Tang Dynasty Literature Research Association, first president of Shuihu society of Beijing University, director of Beijing Writers Association, and quarterly of literary heritage Editorial board members, etc. Since 1993, he has been an expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council. He has a deep study of ancient Chinese poetry. His works include Tao Yuanming, ruminant collection, etc.
Academic achievements
Shortly after liberation, Mr. Liao Zhongan published "on Du Fu's Poems" in the literary journal, which was the first article to comment on Du Fu in New China, and later included in the collection of Du Fu's research papers edited and published by Zhonghua Book Company. After working in Beijing Normal University, he published nearly 60 papers in 30 years. These papers have broad vision, profound insight, new ideas, and are paid attention to by the ancient literary circles. In 1986, Mr. Liao compiled these articles into ruminant collection and published them. In 2009, dozens of new academic papers were collected and published as the sequel of rumination. In 2013, the first two papers were reorganized and ruminated collection was published. In 1961, Mr. Liao Zhongan participated in the compilation of the textbook history of Chinese literature, which was presided over by professor you Guoen. He assisted Professor Xiao Difei to complete the two volumes of manuscript of Wei, Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties, and participated in the discussion of the final version of the book. The monograph Tao Yuanming was published in 1963 and reprinted in 1979. This monograph has been valued and praised by the academic circles at home and abroad, and two editions have been published in Japan. In 1980, the society of water margin was established in various universities in Beijing, and Mr. Liao Zhongan was elected as the first president. After bringing order out of chaos, the state plans to publish the complete works of 15 ancient great writers. At the invitation of Professor Xiao Difei, the chief editor, Mr. Liao is the first deputy chief editor of proofreading and annotating the complete works of Du Fu. After the death of Mr. Xiao in 1991, Mr. Liao Zhongan independently undertook the manuscript work. The complete works was published by people's Literature Publishing House in 2014.
