CEN Zhibao was born in Yunan, Guangdong Province. Born in 1589, died in 1648. Ziwen (Zi Wen) was named juyun. In the fourth year of Tianqi (1624) of the Ming Dynasty, he was a Jinshi of Yichou. At that time, Xining county set up a memorial archway of Yichou Jinshi in the county, which was quite grand.
At the beginning, he was given the title of magistrate of Jiangyin County, Changzhou Prefecture in the south of the Yangtze River. He was strict in law enforcement and undaunted in power. He showed no mercy to the big families in Jiangyin County who relied on someone to be an official in the court and evaded taxes. He first ordered them to fill in a form and report it to the government, and then personally led his subordinates to check in the countryside. He remained unswerving in the face of the coercion and inducement of the rich. He also got rid of the long-standing exorbitant donation of "court ceremony" and was welcomed by the people. The son of a powerful court official broke the law. After investigating the truth, Zhibao ordered him to send his son to the court. The court officials had courted three times, but Zhibao was not afraid of power and insisted on punishment by law. As a result, he was slandered by his father as a Beijing official. The imperial court dismissed Cen Zhibao and lived in seclusion between the two mountains of Panyu. He never became an official again. In his later years, he studied and studied until he was old. He wrote the secret purport of Linjing and the collection of Caotang, which were handed down to the world. As for his deeds, there are records in Xining county annals of Kangxi and Shunde county annals of Xianfeng.
