Ji Kaisheng (1627-1659) was born in Jijia City, Taixing County, Jiangnan Province in the early Qing Dynasty. He became famous as a young man and had outstanding literary talent. He was known as "Jiangnan talented man" and wrote "stupid minister's Poems". In the sixth year of Shunzhi, he was a Jinshi in the Imperial Academy. Later, he changed the ritual department to Shizhong and the military department to Shizhong. During the reign of the Qing Dynasty, he was famous for his outspokenness and was exiled because he was guilty of speaking. Historians called him "the first admonishment Minister of the Qing Dynasty". His father Ji Yuyong is a rich family in the south of the Yangtze River, and his brother Ji Zhenyi is a famous book collector.
Family background
Ji Sanqing, the grandfather of Ji Kaisheng, had four sons. Jinyong, the eldest son, was the Vice Minister of Wanli Dynasty in Ming Dynasty. The second son, Yu Yong (i.e. Ji Kaisheng's father), was elected in the first year of Qi's reign tomorrow. He was a Jinshi in the middle of the next year. He was appointed to the county magistrate of Yuyao, Linhai, Zhejiang Province and Xiangfu, Henan Province. When he was 70 years old, he still helped Taixing county magistrate Chen Li to resist the pirates and deal with other chaotic affairs. At the age of 84, he was worshipped in the Xiangxian temple. Ji Kaisheng was sent to shangshuji to defend Shangyang fort in Eastern Liaoning Province. As soon as the news of Ji Kaisheng's dismissal and exile spread, he was widely sympathized with. Dozens of people wrote poems to send him off. "Although he was far away from poverty, his reputation was growing," and "his voice shocked the world.". In 1659, Ji Kaisheng died at the age of 33.
