World Championships lost
South Korea coach Kim Chong soo, the team's gold medal winning key figure Lee Hsiao Ching due to injury has definitely not participated in the world badminton championships in Madrid. In this regard, Weng Jiande, coach of the Chinese women's doubles team, said that no matter what the opponent is, what the Chinese team members should do is to prepare for the match seriously.
The South Korean team had their last training before the world championships at the sports palace in Madrid. The famous players Li Xiaozhen, Li Jingyuan and Li Zaizhen never showed up. Li Xiaozhen, who suffered a serious back injury in the Korean open, has withdrawn from the competition. Influenced by Li Xiaozhen, her female doubles partner Li Jingyuan and mixed doubles partner Li Zaizhen have not come to Madrid.
According to the relevant regulations of the International Badminton Federation, if a person in the doubles group withdraws from the competition, his or her partner is not replaceable. Originally in these two events, South Korea still has the strength to impact the gold medal, only to see the performance of men's doubles and men's singles.
Li Xiaozhen and Li Jingyuan are the third seed of women's doubles in the world championships, while Li Xiaozhen / Li Zaizhen are the second seed of mixed doubles.
Chinese women's doubles has always been the pride of Chinese badminton team. It is by women's doubles that Chinese team achieved the breakthrough of zero Olympic Badminton gold medal in Atlanta Olympic Games. In addition, in a total of 12 world championships, the Chinese women's doubles won 11 Championships, which is the best event of the Chinese team. However, with the implementation of the 21 point system and the emergence of the superiority of Chinese women's doubles, "Er Li", the only badminton player in the world who can pose a threat to Chinese women's doubles, has won five victories in eight matches with Chinese team, which makes Li Yongbo, the head coach of Chinese team, exclaim: the superiority of Chinese women's doubles has been weakened!
According to the draw, Gao Gu / Huang Sui and Du Jing / Yu Yang are likely to compete with Li Xiaozhen / Li Zaizhen in the upper half of the world championships, and Li Xiaozhen / Li Zaizhen and Li has won the two Chinese teams. The withdrawal of Li Xiaozhen / Li Zaizhen is undoubtedly good news for Chinese women's doubles. In mixed doubles, with the withdrawal of Li Xiaozhen / Li Zaizhen, Xie Zhongbo / Zhang Yawen, the last runner up of the Chinese team, who was going to encounter the second seeded pair in the third round, won't encounter too much resistance to enter the semi-finals from the lower half.
On the court
South Korean Li Jingyuan / Li Xiaozhen take the lead in the women's doubles final of badminton
South Korean Li Jingyuan / Li Xiaozhen beat Japanese Maeda Meishun / Mo gangcongzi 2-0 on the 13th to advance to the women's doubles final of Beijing Olympic Games.
After the match, the South Korean team said, "in the next battle, we will compete with China for the championship of women's doubles. They are very strong and difficult to deal with.".
The women's doubles semi-final on the morning of the 13th was quite fierce. Japan's Maeda Meishun / Mo gangcongzi are obviously ambitious after they knocked out China's No.1 women's doubles and Athens Olympic champion Yang Wei / Zhang Jiewen. They put a lot of pressure on their opponents as soon as they come up. However, the strength of the dominant combination of South Korea or 22:20, 21:15 to win the game smoothly.
Just after the competition, Li Xiaozhen said: before the competition, she always thought that the Japanese team was definitely not her opponent; but today, their performance in the competition is amazing, and their strength can not be underestimated.
We have to thank them (Japanese group), Li Xiaozhen said humorously. If they hadn't eliminated the defending champion, we wouldn't have reached the final so easily.
Failing to reach the final, Mo gangcongzi was obviously disappointed. The opponent's height is very high, and the angle of hitting the ball is also very tough, which makes it difficult for us to accurately judge the landing point of the ball.
The South Korean team's final opponents will be the winners between Chinese team Du Jing / Yu Yang and Wei Yili / Zhang Yawen. Li Jingyuan is more optimistic about the former's promotion to the finals. She said: "they (DU Jing / Yu Yang) are very young and have a certain impact. If they meet them, it's really hard to say who wins and who loses."
