Qing Qiantang (now Hangzhou) people. In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860) of the Qing Dynasty, he was a Jinshi. He chose the Imperial Academy to capture Hangzhou with the Taiping Army and begged for leave to serve his mother.
Sun Yijing (1826-1890) was born in Qiantang (now Hangzhou) of the Qing Dynasty. In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860) of the Qing Dynasty, he was a Jinshi. He chose the Imperial Academy to capture Hangzhou with the Taiping Army and begged for leave to serve his mother. In the first year of tongzhi (1862), he and Zhang Jingqu of ningshaotai road led the Qing army and suppressed the Taiping Army in eastern Zhejiang. He joined Zhinan study in three years. Since then, he has successively held the posts of examiners for the joint examination, guozijiansiye, deputy examiners for the Shaanxi provincial examination, assistant lecturers for the Hanlin academy, daily living announcers for the Japanese Academy, compilers for the National History Museum, Zhan Shi, President of the Xian'an Palace, chief examiners for the Fujian provincial examination, and Fujian Xuezheng. In 1878, he was promoted to a Bachelor of cabinet and the title of minister of rites. Later, he moved to the left Minister of the Ministry of work and the Ministry of punishment, and transferred to the right minister and the left Minister of the Ministry of household, the left Minister of rites and the right Minister of the Ministry of officials. When he was an official, he wrote many memorials and suggested that the malpractice of provincial examinations should be eliminated, the administration of officials should be rectified, the defense of the capital and Shanhaiguan should be strengthened, and relief should be given to the victims, many of which were adopted by the imperial court. All his life, sun Yijing wanted to use Confucianism to save the disadvantages of the times. He thought: "learning is so strict, erudite but weak, and learning is still enough?" he successively held the literary handle, recommended talents, and spared no effort.
