In the fourth year of emperor Guangzong's reign of Shaoxi (1193), the imperial court appointed him a doctor of martial arts and taught Sun Wu the art of war. He was appointed by the imperial edict. The text said: "Sun Yuanqing, the imperial scholar, was appointed as a doctor of martial arts. He had an official named sun. In the past, Gan Yu studied in the eastern preface, while Li Shou and Yu were musicians, so he taught the sons of the state. Retirement in old age

Sun Yuanqing was quiet and modest, and did not aspire to fame and fortune in his official career. He went back to his hometown at the age of 68 and died at home at the age of 87 in 1217. He has been engaged in education and has made a certain contribution to the cause of education and culture.
