Dafang County
Dafang County, located in the northwest of Guizhou Province, is subordinate to Bijie City, adjacent to Jinsha County in the East, Qianxi County in the South and qixingguan District in the West. It is located in the core area of Guizhou Golden Triangle, 150 kilometers away from Guiyang. There are 36 villages and towns in the county, where 23 ethnic groups such as Han, Yi, Miao, Bai and Gelao live, with a population of 1.03 million. The territory is rich in mineral resources, perfect infrastructure and superior geographical location, which is an important transportation hub and material distribution center in Northwest Guizhou.
Dafang has many tourist attractions, such as muoge ancient city, Shexiang ancient town, longchangping mountain, maganshan grassland, Muzhai village, Youshan River, zhiga Alu lake, Shexiang tomb, Kuifeng tower, Geya ancient post road, jihuobei, Dadu River Bridge, Qingxu cave, etc.
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county" of the Ministry of Commerce. Historical evolution
In the Xia Dynasty, Dafang County was a wasteland in the south of Liangzhou.
In the 26th year of Yingzheng (221 BC), the first emperor of Qin Dynasty was incorporated into Hanyang county. In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) in the Western Han Dynasty, it was designated as Pingyi County. In 549 of the third year of the Taiqing Dynasty in the southern Liang Dynasty, the 20th branch of the Yiji huomin branch in Kunming expanded from Fujian (today's Dongchuan, Yunnan) to the northeast. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Dading county was established, which was subordinate to Qianxi Road, Guizhou Province. In 1935, it was transferred to the office of the fourth inspector general of Guizhou Province. On November 25, 1949, Dading county was liberated. On December 5, the people's Government of Dading county was established, under the jurisdiction of Bijie Commissioner's office, which changed the old regime from four towns and 16 townships to five administrative regions to take over the old regime and carry out the work of collecting grain and suppressing bandits. On December 6, six towns and 16 townships in the old administrative region were divided into six administrative regions and the people's Government of the region was established.
In January 1950, due to the shortage of cadres, five districts were set up with jurisdiction over four towns and 16 townships. On July 5, it was reorganized into 13 administrative regions, namely Chengguan, Xiangshui, Shuangshan, Dingxin, Machang, physicochemical, Jichang, Liulong, Baina, Daxi, piaojing, Shichang and Shachang, with District People's governments set up. From September to May of the next year, the Baojia system was abolished, and the original 256 Baojia were rebuilt into 228 villages (including 8 streets in Chengguan), and the people's Government of villages (streets) was established.
In April 1953, 228 villages (streets) were transformed into 138 townships and 4 streets, and people's governments were set up. The District People's government is renamed the district office as an agency of the county people's government.
On February 16, 1958, the State Council approved Dading county to be renamed Dafang County. In September, the district and township system was abolished, and the "government and society in one" system was implemented. 418 senior agricultural production cooperatives were merged into 121 people's communes. In November, according to the principle of "one district, one commune", the township construction commune was abolished and transformed into 13 people's communes, 123 administrative districts, 293 production teams and 2141 production teams.
In October 1961, the district system was restored, with 13 districts and 62 people's communes in the county.
In March 1963, 62 people's communes in 13 districts of the county were adjusted to 109 people's communes and one town.
In April 1978, 13 district offices were restored.
In 1984, the Circular of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the separation of Party and government and the establishment of township governments was implemented, and townships or township level towns were established according to the administrative regions of communes. Through the general election, the township (town) people's government will be established. There are 13 districts, 1 district level town, 14 township level towns, 95 townships (including 33 ethnic townships), 44 sub district offices, 16 neighborhood committees, 83 neighborhood groups, 506 villagers' committees and 4053 villagers' groups in the county.

In 1991, with the approval of the people's Government of Guizhou Province, the original 13 districts of Chengguan, Xiangshui, Shuangshan, Pojiao, Machang, physicochemical, Jichang, Liulong, Baina, Daxi, piaojing, Shichang and Shachang were abolished, and the original 108 townships (towns) were merged to establish 36 science and technology bureau level townships.
In 2003, Dafang County merged 499 administrative villages and 30 neighborhood committees into 367 villages and 22 community neighborhood committees.
In 2007, Dafang County has jurisdiction over 10 towns, 26 townships (including 18 ethnic townships), 367 villagers' committees and 22 community neighborhood committees. On December 9, 2007, the Party Working Committee and Management Committee of Baili Rhododendron management area signed the trusteeship agreement with Dafang and Qianxi counties, and Dafang Pudi and Dashui ethnic townships were entrusted to Baili Rhododendron management area. In 2008, Huangnitang town was entrusted to Baili Rhododendron management area in Gongmen, Qingmen and Longping, Longfeng and Longzhu villages of Baina township.
