Zhou Changgeng
Zhou Changgeng (1911-1970) was born in Shishou County, Hubei Province. He is an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, one of the founders of the PLA Military Medical Science Research Institute, and holds the rank of major general.

Zhou Changgeng (1911-1970), born in Shishou, Hubei Province, was a poor man who helped landlords to do long-term work as a minor. In 1927, he joined the peasant self-defense army. In 1929, he joined the sixth Red Army. In the same year, he joined the Communist Party of China. He joined the Communist Youth League of China in 1930 and joined the Red Army of workers and peasants in the same year. during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, he served as the Minister of health of the 4th division and the 6th Division of the 2nd Red Army. In 1930, he took part in the anti encirclement and suppression battle in Western Hunan and Hubei, and was wounded many times. In 1933, he was detained as a reformer and released for Guan Xiangying. During the Long March, the wounded and sick were rescued in many ways, and they were promoted to minister of health of the 4th division and Minister of health of the 6th Division of the 2nd Red Army Corps. after arriving in Northern Shaanxi, he attended the central advanced health class and Yan'an Academy of Medical Sciences. During the Anti Japanese War, he served as the director of the health department of 358 brigade of 120 division of the Eighth Route Army, and the director of the health department of the second military division of Northwest Shanxi military region. during the war of liberation, he served as the Minister of Health Department of No.1 column of Jinsui field army and vice minister of Health Department of Jinsui military region. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as vice minister and vice political commissar of the Ministry of health of the Logistics Department of the Southwest Military Region, director of the inspection room of the Ministry of health of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, Minister of the Ministry of health of the Logistics Department of the Southwest Military Region, vice president of the Chinese Union Medical College, political commissar of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and vice director of the Political Department of the General Logistics Department. During the cultural revolution, Zhou Changgeng was accused of "he long's confidant" and "going to the capital platoon" for exposing Qiu huizuo. He was isolated and criticized. As a result, he was seriously ill. In 1969, he was forcibly sent to the 3536 factory in Shehong County, Sichuan Province to "supervise the reform through labor". died of a heart attack in 1970. At that time, hundreds of workers from 3536 factory spontaneously rushed to the hospital a hundred miles away to mourn. according to the judgment of the special court of the Supreme People's Court of the people's Republic of China, Qiu huizuo set up a private prison in the General Logistics Department from 1967 to 1971, extorted confessions by torture, directly framed and persecuted 462 cadres and masses, resulting in the persecution and death of eight people, including Tang Ping, Zhou Changgeng, Gu Zizhuang, Zhang Shusen, Shen maoxing, Wang Shuchen, Zhang Lingdou and Hua Diping. on January 29, 1970, he died of cardiac infarction in Shehong County Hospital of Sichuan Province at the age of 59.
