Wu Dunren (1906-1930), formerly known as Wu Youtu, was born in Linjiao village, Tuling Township, Hui'an County, Fujian Province.
Life of the characters
In the autumn of 1921, he was admitted to Jimei normal school, during which he accepted revolutionary thought. In the autumn of 1926, a propaganda team led by Wang Dexin, a member of the Communist Party, returned to Hui'an to carry out anti imperialist and anti feudal propaganda activities, organize farmers' Mutual Aid Association and reduce rent and interest. On November 25, 1926, the Northern Expedition army entered Hui'an. He and the comrades of the propaganda team came to welcome him. In the middle of December 1926, he joined the Communist Party of China and worked in the Hui'an temporary County Committee of the Communist Party of China. He served as the head of the student branch and executive member of the Hui'an student union, responsible for propaganda. At the same time, the party organization appointed the organization director of the temporary party Department of Hui'an County of the Kuomintang to form a money and grain Supervision Committee in the county government organs to supervise the collection of farmers' money and grain and eliminate the additional bad rules. In April 1927, after the failure of the great revolution, he turned to the underground struggle. Under the cover of Dingxin primary school teacher, he led the peasant movement in Tuling area to fight against local tyrants and evil gentry. In the middle of May 1927, he served as the Secretary of the Party branch of Linjiao village, participated in the organization of farmers' mutual aid League, started to rectify and organize farmers' Association, and became the vice chairman of Tuling rural farmers' Association. During this period, we set up political training classes and night schools for peasants to study culture and publicize revolutionary struggle. On this basis, a Tuling peasant self-defense army with more than 300 guns was organized. In the summer and autumn of the same year, he led the peasant guards to repel the attacks of the reactionary forces in Hui'an and Quanzhou. In December 1927, the peasants' self-defense army was reorganized into the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army, transforming from simple self-defense to guerrilla warfare. on January 10, 1928, as a representative of Hui'an, he attended the emergency enlarged meeting held by the Fujian provisional provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China, and then led the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army to carry out guerrilla war in Huibei area according to the deployment of the enlarged meeting of the provincial Party Committee. On February 14, 1928, the Kuomintang army suddenly attacked the Tuling peasant association, and the leader of the peasant movement, Wang Dezhang, was arrested. The Tuling peasant movement was seriously damaged. Wu Dunren and others led the troops to move to the mountainous areas to restore and reorganize the revolutionary ranks. In March 1928, he led the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army to annihilate the enemy's Yang Yanqiu camp in Sizhou, seized a large number of weapons and equipment, and expanded the revolutionary team. In November 1928, due to the need of revolutionary struggle, he left home for Vietnam temporarily. In October 1929, when he returned to Hui'an, he continued to engage in revolutionary activities. In May 1930, the Communist Party of China (CPC) Tuling District Committee was established, with Wu Dunren as secretary. He led the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army to participate in the joint "anti donation and anti bandit" struggle among the township armed forces led by the CPC Hui'an County Committee, and established youth clubs and women's associations in the villages of Tuling to develop the revolutionary armed forces. In July 1930, he was a member of the Hui'an County Party committee and Secretary of the Tuling district Party committee of the CPC. He led the Ministry to actively prepare for the Hui'an uprising. In September 1930, he led the Ministry to take part in the Hui'an uprising. After the failure of the uprising, he led the Tuling district Party committee to reorganize the troops, develop the party's grass-roots organizations and agricultural associations, and launched guerrilla war in Huibei area with Sanping mountain area as a stronghold, establishing a revolutionary base area that runs through 30 Li, forcing the Kuomintang party and government personnel in the area to flee. On December 26, 1930, Wu Dunren was assassinated at his home by a bandit bought by local bully Chen Susheng, and died a martyr.
