Wu Chengxi (1909-1958), the second younger brother of Wu Jingchao, was born in Shexian County, Anhui Province. He used to be a researcher in the Institute of Social Sciences of Academia Sinica, assistant manager and deputy manager of Shanghai Industrial Bank. During the Anti Japanese War, he participated in the preparation of the economic weekly. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as director of the planning department of Huakang District of the people's Bank of China, Dean of Shanghai University of Finance and economics, deputy director of the Preparatory Office of Shanghai Institute of economics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China and the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Democratic League of China, member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai provisional Working Committee of the democratic construction of China, member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's representative and Shanghai CPPCC. He is a member of the Communist Party of China. He is the author of Bank of China, the object of political economy and overseas Chinese remittance and financial organization in Xiamen.
