Wu Lvtai was born in sanlongtang, a new village in Ding'an County in the late Ming Dynasty.
When he was young, he was famous for his generosity and chivalry. He is good at calligraphy, especially in cursive and Li style. In the troubled times of the late Ming Dynasty, he dug a pond in his residence, planted lotus and raised fish, and placed a boat in the pond. There is a library built in the north of the pool, collecting ancient and modern books, reading and chanting day and night. When visitors come, they go boating in the pool, picking lotus, fishing, drinking and writing poems. They live a secluded life. In 1647, the soldiers of Qing Dynasty crossed Qiong, and the officials of Nanming Dynasty came down one after another. In ten days, he recruited 3000 soldiers to fight against the Qing Dynasty. He swore blood to the Confucian temple in the county. Then he led his division to fight against the Qing soldiers. At first, he even won the battle. After the Qing army gathered forces, in Luowan and Changpo area, the rebel army was besieged by the Qing army, defeated and collapsed, and died on the way of Tai Baoshi. At the same time, his nephew Wang Weiwen died. Wu Lutai was the first folk in Hainan to resist the Qing Dynasty. His behavior was heroic, and later generations posthumously named him duanlie. Qu Dajun, a famous scholar in Guangdong Province, wrote poems and essays. In 1836, the Qing Dynasty later, for the political need of the Han people's tenderness, worshipped Wu Lutai in Zhongyi Xiaoti temple and built a stone archway in his hometown to commemorate and commend him. During the cultural revolution, the memorial archway was destroyed, and there are remains in front of the Yucai primary school in Longtang.
