Li Kai (1788-1842), Ziyuan (Zi Yuan), Yugeng (Yu Geng), was born in shitoushan in the late Qing Dynasty. He was born in Zunyi County, Guizhou Province, and studied in Yinjiang county.

He was weak and ill at an early age, but he studied hard. At the age of 38, he won the exam. At the age of 48, he chose the second class as a teacher. He served as a Confucian instructor in Yinjiang County, and later supplemented the Confucian instructor in Kaizhou (now Kaiyang County) of Guiyang Prefecture. He is chivalrous, righteous and willing to help others. He has three volumes of Jinxi Shanfang Shichao, one volume of shitoushanren cichao and two volumes of Jiaoyu jiaozi Lu.
