He was born in the Southern Song Dynasty. The article "Qin Changshi" in Hongmai's Yi Jian Yi Zhi of the Southern Song Dynasty (volume 1-2): both Qin Changshi and Changling were descendants of Qin Hui. In the 23rd year of Shaoxing, Chang Ling saw Huang Yuandao of Dazhen. Yuandao warned him not to be an official of Xuanzhou (now Xuancheng, Anhui Province), but to die. He was awarded the contract by ningguojun (now Xuancheng, Anhui Province), and died in five days, so he could not compete for the official post. Chang Shi came from eastern Zhejiang to be buried. Dazhenri said, "this year's funeral will be signed, and next year's will be raised. I will send you to Kuaiji (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang) On December 12 next year, when dazhenguo visited Chang, he wrote poems on paper in Kuaiji.
