Wei Zhihuang (1568-1647) was a painter of Ming Dynasty. Shukao was born in Shangyuan (now Nanjing)
Profile
Wei Zhihuang. Word uncle test, Shangyuan (now Nanjing) people. He was born alone and poor. He was a filial friend by nature. He cared for his brothers and gave them ten fingers instead of others. He is good at painting and calligraphy and makes a living by selling paintings. The calligrapher imitates Huang Ting Jing, which is well structured and elegant. The mountains and rivers were born in the Song Dynasty. They didn't copy the original. The rocks and gullies are full of trees and rocks, and they have a unique style. There is no resemblance in the picture of one's life. In his later years, he used thick ink to write without writing. He was old and solid, and he had a good foundation. Also good at flowers and Buddha, flower light ink painting, painting Buddhist temples.
Handed down works
In the seventh year of Tianqi (1627), Hu Zhengyan tasted and corrected the calligraphy and painting Manual of shizhuzhai. In the sixth year of Chongzhen (1633), he completed a huge volume of "ink plum scroll" (882cm ╰ 43.2cm), which was collected by Beijing Arts and crafts import and export company. The drawing volume took ten years to follow Yang Buzhi, but also to participate in his own ideas. The overall effect was vigorous and gloomy. The painting trace includes the axis of the painting of autumn entering empty mountain, which is recorded in the collection of famous Chinese paintings of past dynasties; the album of landscape for Zhou Lianggong was made in the first year of Chongzhen (1628), which is recorded in the collection of paintings in the golden chamber. In the second year of Shunzhi (1645), the map of misty rain in forest ranges was made. The works handed down from generation to generation include the painting of misty rain in forest ranges, which is stored in Japan; the long volume of landscape design, which is stored in the Palace Museum in Beijing; and the painting of pine cliff waiting for crossing in 1609. Collected in the Palace Museum of Beijing, Volume 24 Fan Hua Xin, imported into the United States. My brother, Ke, and uncle, also make a living by selling paintings. He is good at painting mountains and rivers. His brush and ink are very similar. He also works as a flower painter, especially for Narcissus.
