The nine volumes of shushihuiyao were completed in 1376, the ninth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. More than 100 kinds of books are selected to record the biographies of calligraphers from ancient times to Yuan Dynasty. The comments are concise, appropriate, systematic and detailed. One volume of addendum contains more than 400 people, most of whom are little-known calligraphers, from which we can see the author's intention of collecting historical facts. The disadvantage of this book is that there is no difference between the quotations and the author's comments, and the historical materials have no clear source, which makes it inconvenient to research and quote. In addition, there are occasional mistakes in the sequence of names. Most of the excerpts from Volume 9 are fragments, and most of them are about techniques related to stippling, such as holding strokes, eight methods of Yongzi, etc.
