Liu Bao was born in Wutai County of Shanxi Province. He was the son of Danyu Fuluo, the southern Xiongnu, the father of Liu Yuan, Emperor Guangwen of Han Dynasty, and the leader of Southern Xiongnu in the Eastern Han and Wei Jin Dynasties.
In 188, Liu Bao stayed in the Han Dynasty because of the turmoil of the southern Xiongnu. In 196, his uncle huchuquan succeeded to the throne of Shan Yu after the death of Yu Fuluo. He became the king of Zuo Xian and later took over the left part of the Xiongnu (one of the five Xiongnu tribes). Liu Bao is believed to live a long life because his son Liu Yuan was born around 251. The 80th volume of Zizhi Tongjian records: "Emperor Wu of Shizu died in the fifth year of Xianning (279), and Yuan was the commander of the left army."
Life of the characters
Division commander
During the period of Zhongping (184-190) in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Bao's grandfather, qiangqu Danyu, sent his son, Yu Fuluo (Liu Bao's father), to help the Eastern Han Dynasty and pacify the Huangjin army. At that time, Chanyu was killed by the people in qiangqu, so the soldiers led by Yu Fuluo stayed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, claiming to be Chanyu. Following Dong Zhuo's rebellion, Yu Fuluo led his troops to plunder Taiyuan and Hedong, and then stationed in Hanoi.
After Yu Fuluo died, Hu Chuquan, Yu Fuluo's younger brother and Liu Bao's uncle, succeeded Shan Yuzhi and appointed Liu Bao as Zuo Xianwang. Later, Cao Cao divided huchuquan's troops into five divisions, and appointed Liu Bao as the commander of the left division. The rest of the commanders were also appointed by the surname Liu.
Go to the next generation
In 279, Liu Bao died. The Western Jin Dynasty appointed Liu Yuan, the son of Liu Bao, as the acting commander of the left army. Later, Liu Yuan established the Han and Zhao regimes in the Sixteen States.
Anecdotes and allusions
During the reign of Cao Wei Jiaping (249-254), Liu Bao's wife, Huyan family, once prayed for God's gift to her son in Longmen. Soon, a big fish with two horns swam to the place where the gods were worshipped, swaying its fins and scales. It was a long time before she swam away. Witches are very strange to see this scene, they said: "this is a good sign." That night, Huyan dreamt that the fish he saw during the day turned into a man. He was holding something in his left hand, about half the size of an egg. He gave it to Hu Yan, saying, "this is the essence of the sun. If you eat it, you can give birth to your son." After waking up, Huyan told Liu Bao about her dream. Liu Bao said, "this is a good sign. In the past, I asked Zhang's mother, situ Shi, to show me her face. She said that I would have noble descendants and that our family would be very prosperous in three generations. What situ Shi said was consistent with what happened at that time. " After that, 13 months later, Huyan gave birth to his son Liu Yuan. When Liu Yuan was born, there was a pattern of yuan on his left hand, so Liu Bao took yuan as his name. Later, as expected, Liu Yuan established the Han Zhao regime and became the emperor.
