Liu Bixian

Liu Bixian (1600-1692), a native of Zhucheng, Shandong Province, was named Xishui. In the early Qing Dynasty, he was an official and the grandfather of Liu Tongxun.

In the ninth year of Shunzhi, he was a Jinshi in the examination. He set up the Department of pedestrian, served as an envoy to eastern Guangdong and other places, and moved to the head of Henan Department. In the third year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, he went out of the Wu customs administration, and moved to Fengzhi doctor and wailang, a member of Guangxi Department of the Ministry of household affairs.

Kangxi 31 years, died at the age of 93.

Overview of characters

Liu Bixian (1600-1692), whose name is Weizhi, was named Xishui. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, his great grandfather Liu Fu and his family moved to pangezhuang (now Gaomi), North Township of Zhucheng.

Liu's family was poor and mainly engaged in farming. Liu Bixian's grandfather, Liu Sizhi, began to study and became a student of Yisheng. His family also became rich. Liu Tong, the father of Liu Bixian, was also a Gongsheng. In 1615, when there was a great famine, he picked up some money on the road and waited for three days. No one came to look for it. He could not use it to buy rice and cook porridge to relieve the hungry people. He saw a poor family sell a woman and buy it. After paying, he tore up the securities face to face and let the woman go home to reunite.

Liu Bixian was intelligent and diligent in his childhood. He did not like to make friends. He was 25 years old (1624, the fourth year of the Ming Dynasty). He was a Jinshi in the ninth year of the reign of emperor Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1652). He was honest and upright, refused to give money and warned bribers. Ding you returns home, subdues and recovers his official position. Soon, he was promoted to the head of Henan Department of the Ministry of accounts. At that time, some people offered their property to the nobles of the flag people and were willing to be slaves of the flag people. Then the flag people owned all the property of one's brother and took one's family as slaves. Someone's younger brother resolutely refused to obey and sued the government. Liu Bixian tried the case and insisted that the banner man could not seize one's brother's property and ordered him to return it. Therefore, Liu Bixian offended the bannermen and was demoted to the rank of Cangguan in central and southern Tongzhou. He will be calm and conscientious.

At this time, Liu Bixian's salary was meagre and his life was miserable. He made it easy for the officials to plant vegetables for self-sufficiency. He had no meat for dozens of days. However, he still did his duty as an official, and later he was promoted to Guangxi Councilor wailang. After more than a month in office, he will resign and return home automatically, and will never become an official.

After returning home, Liu Bixian lived in seclusion in Chahe village of Liujia in the north of Jiuxian mountain (the village was originally named Baijia garden, which was changed to Chahe village of Liujia after Liu's residence), calling himself "Chahe villa". Surrounded by mountains, there are Fenghuang mountain, Bijia mountain, Yantai Mountain, yanziping, waterfalls and other scenic spots. The environment is quiet and elegant. Liu Bixian married Zheng's, sun's, Yang's, Xu's and Xie's, presented his wife Yipin, and was buried in the northern Tomb of Ge Zhuang. Fourth son: Zhen, Guo, Luo, Fei.

Son: Liu Zhen, born and Gongsheng, was awarded six grades.

Zi: Liu Guo was a scholar in Shunzhi's 11th year and a scholar in Shunzhi's 15th year.

Son: Liu Bi (Q ǐ), Yimao Juren of Kangxi, Yichou Jinshi, Jiangxi provincial governor, Sichuan provincial governor, Gaoshi Tongfeng official. He was a well-known honest official in Kangxi Dynasty.

Sun: Liu Tongxun, the son of Liu Yao, is a famous Minister of a generation. He is a Bachelor of Dongge and a minister of military aircraft. He is honest and resolute. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty said that he was "smart and resolute in case of trouble, and won the style of an ancient minister. He never lost his integrity all his life".

Great grandson: Liu Yong, the son of Liu Tongxun, was named chongru, Shi'an, Qingyuan, Xiangyan, Dongwu, mu'an, Minghua, and riguanfeng Taoist. He was a painter and politician in Qing Dynasty. In 1751, the Emperor Qianlong was a scholar of the middle Jin Dynasty. He was an official to the Minister of the Ministry of official affairs, a Bachelor of Ti Ren Ge, and a Bachelor of the cabinet. He was honest and upright and had the style of his father Liu Tongxun. Most of Liu Yong's calligraphy works are running script. Jiaqing nine years on December 25 (January 1805), died in Beijing, posthumous title Wenqing.
