Life of the characters
1914
Because of the drought in Lijin and the loss of agricultural income, the county government lied about the harvest and forced them to pay taxes according to the situation of eight years old. The farmers were hungry and cold, and countless people sold their children. In the spring of the next year, Wang Xun organized more than 200 poor households in several neighboring villages to eat "rich households". First, he offered food for himself, and then he led everyone to eat in other villages to make a living. The county government sent soldiers to disperse the poor people led by Wang Xun. Officials and gentry colluded with each other to collect excessive taxes, so Wang Xun directed the struggle against Huang Liyou, the county governor. On April 29, Wang Xun led more than 3000 farmers to encircle the county with farm implements, which made Huang Liyou close the city gate. In the autumn of the same year, Huang was replaced.
1923
In yulongzui, dongwa, Lijin, Wang Xun met Zhou Hongxiang (nicknamed Zhou tietou) of Shouguang county and Dong Laipeng of Wei County, two "red spear club" masters. In order to prevent bandits and eliminate traitors and make the masses live in peace, Wang Xun invited Zhou and Dong to the village to help them practice martial arts and build a "spear club". Wang Xun was chosen as the president. The organization of "red gun society" expanded rapidly in rural areas of Lijin.
1927
Relying on the power of the county magistrate, Lin Zhenhai, the leader of the County Department, bullied the people and committed many evils, which the masses hated deeply. In order to eliminate the violence and pacify the people, Wang Gou led more than a thousand members of the "red spear club" to besiege the county, broke into the county office and executed Lin Zhenhai. When the "Red Gun Club" was out of the city, the masses beat gongs and drums to send each other off.
Summer of 1929
Wang Xun was invited to lead more than 100 members of the "red spear club" to laoguanzhao village in Putai county to wipe out the remaining evils of Zhang Zongchang, a warlord in Shandong Province. Because of the enemy's plot, Wang Xun was trapped and burned to death. He was 66 years old.
