Wang Hui
Wang Huan (1199-1275) was born in Changtan, Xinchang, with the name of Zhongqian and Bohui. He was one of the famous prime ministers in Gongdi period of Southern Song Dynasty.

Southern Song Dynasty

In the second year of JINGDING (1261), he moved to the Minister of rites, and became a Bachelor of Arts in Jiaguan. In the first year of Xianchun (1265), he knew the Privy Council Affairs and had the right to participate in political affairs. In the 10th year of Xianchun, he was the Prime Minister of Zuo.
In the first year of Deyou (1275), the soldiers of the Yuan Dynasty went south in large numbers. Regardless of their old age, they asked the imperial court to give them Xuanfu to recruit ambassadors for loyalty. Soon, Ren Pingzhang was an important military and national affairs officer. He ordered Zhang Shijie and other four groups of soldiers to advance at the same time to resist the yuan soldiers going south. His military deployment was not adopted. Soon after, Zhang Shijie was defeated, and Wang Hui asked for his removal by saying that he could not do his job. After returning to his hometown, he died within a few years.
Character evaluation
Wang Hui is a man of great strength. Jia Sidao, who was honored as "Shichen" by duzong of Song Dynasty, went back to Tiantai to bury his mother in Xinchang, but he was not seen alone. The governor of Jia Sidao was defeated. Wang Hui said that Jia Sidao was neither loyal nor filial. When she came to see the empress dowager, she said, "in this dynasty, the powerful officials were not as strong as the Tao. Jia Sidao was banished to other places, and was despised everywhere. At last, he was killed by Zheng Huchen in Mumian nunnery, Zhangzhou.
