Life of the characters
In 1387, Wang Zhang took Xiang Jianbu as his son's supervisor. When he was sent to Shandong Province to buy grain at a low price, he had a reputation of being honest and competent, so he was promoted to the rank of official. After a year, he changed to give things to the middle, and was promoted to the left of Shanxi to participate in politics. In 1407, Wang Zhang was recalled as the Minister of rites. After his father died and his filial piety expired, he moved to the Ministry of household. There was a serious plague in Shaanxi Province. He was ordered to send an envoy to sacrifice to Xiyue. People in Xin'an sell their children to pay taxes, and Wang zhangshangzuo exempts local taxes and redeems the children they sell. He was changed to the right deputy governor.
Ma Ying, the governor of Shaanxi Province, incited the people in Suzhou to make trouble and killed the censor and the commander. Wang Zhang impeached Ma Ying and sentenced him to death. He also impeached imperial censor Chen mengxu for taking bribes and bending the law, stealing money and taxes from documents, and Jin Wu ordered Li Yan to expel his mother without supporting him. All three were sentenced to death. He impeached many others. In the 11th year of Yongle (1413), he accompanied Emperor Zhu Di to the north. Wang Zhang had an old mother who was over eighty years old. The emperor ordered him to go back to visit him and gave his mother a crown dress and gold coins. He said to him, "a gentleman does not forget his relatives when he is an official, and does not forget his monarch when he is at home. All the places you pass, whether the people live in peace or not, and whether the officials are virtuous or not, you must report them. " After Wang Zhang came back, what he played was very agreeable to the emperor. Soon, he was promoted to the rank of censor of Youdu. In the 19th year of Yongle (1421), the emperor sent 26 officials to inspect the whole world. Wang Zhang and Wang Li went to Henan. In the end of the Ming Dynasty, only Wang Zhang and ye Chun had the right to inspect their native land. Flood occurred in Henan Province, and most of the people were in exile. The local officials did not give any pension. Wang zhangshangzao deposed more than 100 greedy and mean officials, stopped more than 10 things, such as collecting money without urgency, called back the refugees and distributed grain to relieve them, so that many people survived. After returning to the imperial court, the emperor ordered him to transport grain and pay to the north. After emperor mingrenzong ascended the throne, the Yellow River flooded into Kaifeng City and ordered Wang Zhang and his commander Li Xin to provide relief and pension. In the first year of Xuande (1426), Wang Zhang was ordered to patrol the army and the people from Liangxiang to Nanjing. Soon after, because what he mentioned was ordinary, the emperor issued an imperial decree to severely rebuke him, and ordered him to discuss the local diseases in detail. The emperor also said to his courtiers, "the two capitals are thousands of miles apart, and envoys often come and go through the post roads. Sometimes, in case of floods and droughts, the envoys of the imperial court do not tell the imperial court when they come back or when the censor goes out on a tour, so they send Wang Zhang to inspect. Now what he plays is mostly small things. Minister, who else can I expect? All of you should understand what I mean. The monarch and the minister are the same. Don't have any doubts. " Soon he recalled Wang Zhang and ordered him and his governor Shanyun to inspect the passes from Shanhai Pass to Juyong Pass. After two months, he came back. Some of the soldiers left their posts without permission. The emperor ordered them to be arrested and punished. The emperor then ordered the Ministry of war to send the censor to inspect the matter every three months. In April 1427, Wang Zhang died in office.
