Wang Kang (1911-1992) was born in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. He joined the vanguard of Chinese national liberation in 1937 and the Communist Party of China in the same year. During the Anti Japanese War, he served as the squadron leader of the Anti Japanese vanguard Corps in Northwest Shanxi, the chief of staff of the Pingxi Anti Japanese joint army, the battalion commander and head of the 10th regiment of the Pingbei army of the Shanxi Chahar Hebei military area, the chief of staff of the Pingbei army area and the leader of the Rexi detachment, and the deputy chief of staff of the Jire Liaoning military area.
