He graduated from the Chinese Department of China University in 1937.
He used to be a middle school teacher, an associate professor of the school of Arts of Changchun University and Northeast University. After 1949, he successively served as the director of Yunnan Federation of literary and art circles, an associate professor of Kunming Normal University, a vice chairman of Kunming Branch of China Writers Association, and a researcher and deputy director of Literature Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of social sciences. He is a member of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and the second director of the Chinese Writers Association. His works began to be published in 1936. He joined the Chinese Writers Association in 1956. He is the author of the novel "returning home", the collection of short stories "cold winter collection", "Zaochun collection", "selling plough", the novella "bridge" and "Yinyang community in Xiaozhen village".
