Ding Shichang, male, is also known as shicang, with the name of Xinhai and baiting. Born in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province in 1934. The famous painter Ding Shichang's studio is longyingxuan and Luoxia Pavilion. In the past, he had a large collection of ancient books, calligraphy and painting, so he was deeply influenced by traditional culture and art. In the 1950s, when he was studying in a normal school, he read two books, a study of Chinese painting pigments and how I draw fine brushwork flower and bird paintings, written by Mr. Yu Feian in Beijing. He ordered Chinese painting pigments from jiangsixutang, Suzhou, and put them into practice seriously. He boldly wrote to Mr. Yu feilan to ask him about the technical problems encountered in painting, and received his advice one by one Partial demonstration drawings. In the 1960s, when he was working in the library, he wrote to Mr. Yu Zhizhen for advice and sent many assignments to him. At that time, Mr. Yu was in poor health and often fell ill. Each reply was written by someone else, which made him very moved. In the 1970s, I had the honor to meet Mr. Yu Jigao in Nanjing. He saw his teacher's face-to-face painting demonstration for the first time, and got a lot of inspiration from it. Since then, he has been cared and helped by Mr. Yu, and his artistic level has improved rapidly. In addition, in freehand flower and bird painting, he also got the guidance of Suzhou Mr. Zhang Jixin. Over the past decades, through continuous learning and exploration, he has been able to pay attention to the integration of Southern elegance and Northern vigour in his painting practice, absorb and apply new methods, enrich his painting language, express and develop his own artistic realm, and form his own artistic style. He has created a large number of paintings and participated in dozens of exhibitions held by cultural departments at or above the provincial level and art associations at home and abroad. Many of his paintings have been collected by art institutions and private collectors at home and abroad. Apart from painting, he also studied poetry, calligraphy and seal cutting. He studied poetry and seal cutting for 30 years from Yu Shouyan, a famous poet and calligrapher. His poems on paintings are fresh and natural, without pretending to be difficult. Dozens of them have been published in Hu Hai poetry and Jiangsu flower and bird painting research. In the poem "when he was bored in his illness, Xu Yuanzi sent wine to him", there is a poem that "jingduqian path, chanting Du Fu's poem for a long time. "Ci Yu Zhong Fang Si Ma song Qiu Yun" says: "the night is long, the moon is cold, the insects are urgent, the sky is wide, the wind is high, and the geese are too late. The yellow flowers in the three paths keep the old knots, and the red leaves in the half hurdle drop the remnant branches I have friends with Xu Wudao (Yuanzi).
