Jiao Xian

Jiao Xian was a hermit in the late Han Dynasty. Word Xiaoran, Hedong (today's Yongji Shanxi) people, lonely without relatives. Seeing the decline of the Han Dynasty, he said nothing. When the state of Wei was established, the eunuchs Jia Mu and Dong Jing went to visit them. They did not eat or speak to each other. Usually do not practice evil path, see the woman to avoid, do not take big ear, a few days a food. Or said to have settled in Zhenjiang Qiao mountain (today's Jiaoshan). It is said that he was over a hundred years old when he died. Refer to Jin huangfumi's biography of Gao Shi and Jin Gehong's biography of immortals. Life

According to the historical book Fu Zi, Jiao Xian lived to 89 years old. However, in the novel biography of immortals written by Ge Hong in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Jiao Xian lived to 170 years old.

Jiao Xian often took Baishi and gave it to others. He cooked it like taro. Every day, he went into the mountain to cut firewood, and then gave it to others. First, he started from the first family in the village, and distributed firewood family by family.

Every time Jiao Xian carries firewood to someone's door, if the host sees him, he will be invited to the house and invite him to dinner. Jiao Xian sits down and does not talk to the host. If no one saw him, he would put the firewood outside the door, turn around and go, every year.

After Wei Wendi ascended the throne, Jiao first built grass for an nunnery by the river, where he lived alone. There were no beds in the room, only straw mats. His whole body was dirty, like rolling in the mud. Sometimes he eats once a few days, behaves in a regular way, and doesn't associate with women. When his clothes were broken, he sold firewood and bought an old one to put on. He was single in winter and summer.

During the Xiping period of Cao Wei, the prefect Jia Mu passed by his cottage, and he did not answer when he spoke to him, nor did he eat when he gave him food.

Later, Jiao Xian's hut was burned down by a wildfire. When people went to see it, they saw Jiao Xian Duan sitting in the fire. The hut was burnt to ashes. Jiao Xian stood up slowly, but his clothes were not on fire. Later, Jiao Xian built the thatched cottage again. Suddenly, there was a heavy snow. Many houses were crushed by the snow, and Jiao Xian's thatched cottage was also crushed by the snow. When people went to see him, they couldn't find him. They were afraid that he would freeze to death, so they opened the thatched cottage to look for him. They saw Jiao lying in the snow, sleeping soundly, ruddy and breathing evenly, as if he was drunk in the heat.

People think that Jiao Xian is a stranger, and many people want to learn from him. Jiao Xian said, "I have no Tao." Jiao looked old for a while and very young for a while. Later, he left us and didn't know where to go.
