You Jiugong (1163-1243) was born in Jianyang (now Fujian Province) and his younger brother. He is a famous Neo Confucianist in the late Southern Song Dynasty.
Together with his elder brother you Jiuyan, he studied Yuelu Academy, starting from Zhang Zhen. He actively resisted the Jin Dynasty and made great contributions to the war. He was promoted to Hubei Province as a magistrate and also known Ezhou. Later he joined the Ministry of punishment as a minister. He was an official in his whole life, and he was also an official in the Qing Dynasty. After his death, he was named Zhuang Jian. You Jiugong inherited Zhang's Neo Confucianism thought, and Song Yuan Xuean called him and his elder brother Zhang's "high rank".
